Touring Edition Exhaust
At the intersection of sophistication and aggression lies the Touring Edition Exhaust. A 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back configuration, the Touring Edition Exhaust is the perfect dose of steel for drivers looking for straight-pipe performance, a deep, sophisticated exhaust note, and zero drone at highway speeds.
Featuring an integrated frontpipe, bespoke midpipe resonator, and AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®, the Touring Edition delivers a full-bodied, rasp-free K20 soundtrack unachieved by any of its peers. Under boost and heavy throttle, the Touring Edition screams. At highway speeds, drone-free within the cabin which gives the best of both worlds. Perfectly engineered and packaged for the FL5 Civic Type R, all backed by AWE No CEL and Perfect Fitment Guarantees.
As exhaust gases exit the K20 engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, AWE can also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. All of this with a straight-through design. In other words, all the power, none of the drone.
What is 180 Technology?
AWE’s 180 Technology® operates in the following manner: Exhaust gases leaving the engine flow into a resonator equipped with AWE’s 180 Technology®, where they pass through ports placed in specific locations, leading into reflection chambers
Inside these chambers, sound waves from the exhaust gases are reflected off the walls. AWE’s acoustic engineers tailor the size and placement of these ports and chambers to meet the sound requirements of each specific vehicle. By manipulating these critical elements, they precisely control the timing of the sound waves’ exit from the chambers. The carefully timed reintegration of these reflected sound waves with the main exhaust flow produces a 180-degree out-of-phase sound wave that neutralizes unwanted frequencies.
AWE’s 180 Technology® is customized for each vehicle type, eschewing a one-size-fits-all approach. The engineers at AWE craft sound cancellation resonators specifically tuned to the unique acoustics of different vehicle models, ensuring an impeccable sound every time. Front Pipes
Both the Touring and Track Edition Exhausts feature a comprehensive 3” front pipe, uniquely engineered with a specialized flange and gasket to maintain consistent diameter from inlet to outlet. This front pipe is seamlessly incorporated into the exhausts’ design. It’s important to note that AWE exhausts are specifically crafted to align only with their own system and are not intended to be compatible with front pipes from other aftermarket brands.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less.
