Touring Edition Exhaust

• The Touring Edition Exhaust pairs a 3-inch T304L stainless steel downpipe-back layout with a straight-through design that keeps performance intact while maintaining a controlled, mature tone. It uses an integrated frontpipe, a purpose-built midpipe resonator, and AWE’s 180 Technology® to eliminate drone, resulting in a deeper, clean K20 exhaust note without rasp. Under load it opens up with a strong, aggressive sound, but settles down at cruising speeds, keeping the cabin quiet. It’s designed to fit precisely and avoid triggering check engine lights. The 180 Technology works by routing sound waves through reflection chambers via calibrated ports, where they are timed and phased to re-enter the exhaust stream 180 degrees out of phase, effectively canceling unwanted frequencies while preserving a straight-through flow.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE’s 180 Technology® routes exhaust gases through a resonator with precisely placed ports that feed into reflection chambers. Inside, sound waves are reflected and shaped by carefully tuned port sizes and chamber volumes, all matched to the specific acoustic profile of the vehicle. This tuning controls when the waves exit the chambers so that, when they merge back into the main exhaust stream, they are 180 degrees out of phase and cancel unwanted frequencies. Each resonator is developed for a particular application rather than a universal setup, resulting in consistent drone reduction while maintaining a clean, well-defined exhaust tone.

Front Pipes

• Both Touring and Track Edition systems include a full 3-inch front pipe that uses a dedicated flange and gasket to maintain a constant diameter from inlet to outlet. It’s designed to integrate as part of the complete exhaust system, not as a standalone component. AWE front pipes are built around their own configurations and aren’t intended to work with front pipes from other aftermarket setups.
