Touring Edition Exhaust

• The Touring Edition Exhaust strikes a balance between refinement and performance with a 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back design, delivering straight-pipe performance, a deep and controlled exhaust note, and completely drone-free cruising at highway speeds. It features an integrated frontpipe, custom midpipe resonator, and AWE’s patented 180 Technology® drone-canceling system, producing a full-bodied, rasp-free K20 soundtrack. Under boost or heavy throttle, the exhaust is aggressive and lively, while at highway speeds the cabin remains quiet, offering both excitement and comfort. Backed by AWE’s No CEL and Perfect Fitment Guarantees, the system directs exhaust gases through 180 Technology-equipped resonators, where sound waves pass through carefully positioned ports into reflection chambers. By controlling the size and placement of these ports and chambers, the timing of when reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a 180-degree out-of-phase wave that cancels unwanted frequencies, all within a straight-through design, providing maximum power without drone.

What is 180 Technology?

• AWE Tuning’s patented 180 Technology functions by routing exhaust gases through a resonator with strategically placed ports leading into reflection chambers. The sound waves within the exhaust bounce off the chamber walls, and by precisely controlling the size and placement of these ports and chambers, AWE engineers manage when the reflected waves rejoin the main exhaust flow. This timing creates a 180-degree out-of-phase wave that cancels unwanted frequencies.
• 180 Technology is not a one-size-fits-all solution; each resonator is specifically tuned to the acoustics of the vehicle it’s designed for, ensuring consistent and accurate sound. The result is the removal of unwanted tones in all AWE 180 Technology-equipped systems, producing a clean, signature exhaust note while maintaining full performance and precise tonal quality.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE thoroughly studied the factory valve’s behavior across different driving conditions. They found that exhaust volume remains largely unchanged between modes that use the valve. The valve stays closed only in Comfort mode and opens once a specific throttle threshold is reached. In Sport and Sport+ modes, it stays open, with Sport+ adding ECU-controlled burbles. In the stock setup, exhaust flows through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce cabin noise and minimize drone-prone frequencies, and through the center path when the valve is open.

Conversion Kits

• AWE designed the system for easy conversion between Track and Touring Editions, allowing interior sound levels to be adjusted as needed.
