The AWE Tuning Performance Exhaust for the 991.1 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 is designed to enhance the naturally aspirated flat-six’s sound and response while maintaining the factory aesthetic with stock tips. It features a downpipe-back layout that improves exhaust flow, resulting in a more immediate and expressive throttle response, a fuller mid-range tone, and a sharper, more aggressive character under load. The system retains all factory mounting points and emissions components, ensuring a direct bolt-on fit without triggering check engine lights, while its T304L stainless steel construction balances long-term durability with heat resistance. By keeping the stock tips, it preserves the exterior appearance of the 911 while unlocking a more dynamic, refined exhaust experience.

The Engineering Behind It

• All development, from initial design through testing and final fabrication, is carried out in-house at AWE. The system is constructed from T-304 stainless steel and produces gains of up to 29hp and 33tq at the crank, while weighing 12lbs less than the factory exhaust. Each unit is TIG welded and hand-finished, with flange openings precisely matched to their corresponding ports to maintain smooth, consistent exhaust flow. Attention to fitment, material choice, and overall construction is evident throughout the system.

• The system was developed using a PDK-equipped car before being tested on a manual, ensuring full compatibility with both transmissions. It maintains AWE’s characteristic tone throughout the power band while remaining completely free of drone, whether paired with PDK or manual.
