The AWE Tuning SwitchPath Exhaust for the 8S/MK3 Audi TT RS Coupe is engineered to provide a versatile exhaust experience that balances daily drivability with performance-oriented sound. SwitchPath Edition

• The SwitchPath™ Exhaust system is constructed from U.S.-sourced T304L stainless steel, featuring smooth, flowing bends, a clean layout, dual-mode operation, and a right-side exit. The 3-inch and 2.5-inch piping provides durability while maintaining compact packaging. SwitchPath™ works with the factory valve settings, responding to the Golf’s ECU based on throttle position, engine speed, and Drive Select mode. For quiet driving, the valve remains closed, and when Dynamic mode is engaged, the system delivers a distinctive AWE tone with richer resonance, enhancing the driving experience without altering factory control logic.

What is SwitchPath

• The AWE SwitchPath Remote and its control box override the factory valve settings, allowing you to manually open or close the exhaust valves on either the AWE SwitchPath Exhaust or the factory piping with a single action. The remote features an “On” button on the left side to open the valves and an “Off” button on the right to close them. Keep in mind that using the AWE remote bypasses the factory valve management, so all valve operation must be controlled directly through the remote.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system comes with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips in Chrome Silver or Diamond Black, each stamped with the AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, letting you set how far they extend into the bumper to suit your preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During development, AWE performed a thorough analysis of the factory exhaust valve across different driving conditions. They found that volume remains largely consistent in modes where the valve operates, with the valve only fully closed in Comfort mode until a specific throttle threshold is reached. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ adding ECU-controlled burble effects. In the stock setup, exhaust flows through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to minimize cabin noise and drone-prone frequencies, while opening the valve routes the flow through the center section.

Conversion Kits

• AWE designed the system for easy conversion between Track and Touring Editions, allowing interior sound levels to be adjusted as needed.
