Through the process of acoustic cancellation, the resonator reduces unwanted frequencies by introducing two sound waves that are out of phase with each other. These sound waves are created by directing exhaust gases from the engine through strategically placed ports and reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and chambers, we can control exactly when the sound waves exit the chamber, creating a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase effect that cancels out problematic frequencies. • AWE’s patented 180 Technology® functions in the following way: when exhaust gases have been released from the engine and funneled through an AWE 180 Technology®-equipped resonator, they are directed through precisely placed ports and into reverberation chambers.
• The exhaust gasses carrying sound waves bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. AWE acoustic engineers are able to adjust the size and location of the ports and chambers according to the sound necessities of each vehicle. By managing the size and placement of these aspects, they can also manage when the sound waves leave the chambers. The precise timing of when the echoed sound waves match with the main exhaust flow makes a sound wave that is one-hundred-and-eighty-degrees out of phase which neutralizes problematic frequencies.

This easy interchangeability lets you quickly and effortlessly change a dual tip configuration to a tri-tip setup, or the other way around, by utilizing an AWE Tip Conversion Kit.
• The exhausts are finished with 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips presented in either chrome silver or diamond black, emblazoned with a AWE logo. You can change the depth of the tips to suit your own preference.

Conversion Kits

Notes

• The Touring and Track Edition Exhausts come with a 3” front pipe that has been created and tailored to fit with either the factory downpipe or any other downpipe that works with the original exhaust. This front pipe is composed into the system of the exhausts. AWE exhausts are not meant to be joined with any other aftermarket front pipes.
• AWE opted to reuse the factory-style flange and gasket for optimal dependability and enduring performance. Its double-layer steel gasket pattern surpasses any aftermarket flat gasket. This design permits the gasket to be firmly contained by the machined groove on the flange, preventing any risk of failure or degradation with long-term use. In addition, it is capable of being serviced, as opposed to a flat gasket that could cling to the pairing flanges and tear when detached.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
