The AWE SwitchPath Exhaust with chrome silver tips for the MK7.5 Volkswagen Golf R is a fully valved system that allows the 2.0T EA888 engine to operate between controlled, daily-drivable tones and a more open, aggressive sound under load. With the valves closed, low-frequency drone is minimized, keeping highway and city driving comfortable, while opening the valves produces a sharper, more pronounced exhaust note that emphasizes turbo spool and engine response during spirited driving. Constructed from T304L stainless steel, the system is a direct bolt-on that integrates with the factory valve controls, and the chrome silver tips provide a clean, OEM-friendly finish that fits neatly within the rear valance.

SwitchPath Edition

• The SwitchPath™ Exhaust is a combination of 3-inch and 2.5-inch T304L stainless steel pipes, with a smoothly curving shape and a valved passenger-side tip outlet. It is carefully packaged and made in the U.S. with two different styles.
• If you’re looking to take your R out for a spin, SwitchPath™ will keep its original valve setting, while also following the commands your ECU provides via throttle input, engine speed, and Drive Select. When you’re trying to leave quietly in the morning or driving through town, you can close the valve. When you’re ready to have a little fun, just switch to Dynamic and your R will be filled with the sound of a signature AWE tune with added pops and crackles guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

What is SwitchPath

• The AWE SwitchPath Remote and its accompanying control unit replaces the factory system, giving the user the capability to open and shut the exhaust valves – both the AWE SwitchPath Exhaust and the stock exhaust – manually through the SwitchPath Remote.
• The “On” and “Off” buttons on the AWE SwitchPath remote allow you to open and close the exhaust valves, respectively. The “On” button is located on the left side of the remote, while the “Off” button is on the right.
• It should be noted that the AWE SwitchPath Remote supersedes the stock valve control and, thus, the exhaust must be opened or closed only with the remote as required.

Exhaust Tips

• The AWE SwitchPath and Track Edition includes 102mm dual-walled, chopped exhaust pipes available in chrome silver or diamond black, each one displaying the imprinted AWE brand emblem.

Conversion Kits

• If you decide later on to switch your volume, it is easy to convert between AWE’s SwitchPath and Track Edition.

• AWE’s SwitchPath™ Technology offers flawless sound as standard. For the Track Edition versions of these systems, the factory valves are taken out and the ECU stores a ‘soft code’. Although there is no harm caused by this code, AWE’s Electronic Valve Simulators offer a way to get rid of it.
• Plug in these easy-to-use devices to the car’s wiring system to switch out the exhaust valves. This will stop the car’s onboard computer (ECU) from saving any fault codes. After they’re plugged in, get the engine going and you can start driving– it’s that easy.
