Does the AWE Touring Edition Non-Resonated Exhaust fit the facelifted 2020 or newer B9.5 RS5 Sportback?

No. This system is built exclusively for the pre-facelift 2019 B9 RS5 Sportback and will not fit facelifted 2020 and newer B9.5 model year cars. AWE is direct about this across all authorized product pages; the B9 and B9.5 use different exhaust routing and mounting configurations. If you own a 2020 or newer RS5 Sportback, the B9.5-specific AWE exhaust suite is the correct system for your car.

Does the AWE Touring Edition Non-Resonated Exhaust drone at highway speeds on the B9 RS5 Sportback?

With the stock downpipes or resonated downpipe options, the 180 Technology® resonator handles drone suppression well. An AudiWorld owner who installed the Touring Edition on their RS5 Sportback confirmed no drone at any RPM level, with the system staying completely composed even in Sport mode at cruise. The non-resonated downpipe sections are a different matter; an AWE representative on Audizine confirmed that non-resonated downpipes do produce some drone, particularly just under the cabin at typical highway RPMs. The AWE non-resonated catback paired with resonated downpipes is the recommended combination for a drone-free result.

What is the difference between the Touring Edition and Track Edition for the B9 RS5 Sportback?

Both editions share the same dual 3" T304L stainless steel construction, downpipes, and precision-engineered x-pipe. The Touring Edition includes AWE's 180 Technology® resonator in the rear catback section, canceling drone-prone frequencies while delivering an aggressive 2.9TT tone across the rev range. The Track Edition removes that resonator entirely for permanent, full-time, unfiltered volume. The Track Edition is known to get rowdy through mid-range acceleration and at cruising speeds and cannot be returned for noise-related reasons. AWE offers conversion kits to switch between the two without replacing the full system.

What performance gains does the AWE Touring Edition Exhaust deliver on the B9 RS5 Sportback, and does it require a tune?

On a turbo-back setup with stock software, max gains come in at 5hp and 15ft-lb of torque at the wheels. Adding a piggyback tuner to the catback configuration pushes that to max gains of 8hp and 20ft-lb of torque at the wheels. No ECU modification is required to run the system; the gains on stock software are real and verified. The system also does not interfere with any factory emissions equipment, and AWE's No CEL guarantee covers it when installed correctly.

Description

AWE Tuning Touring Edition Exhaust Non-Resonated w/ Diamond Black RS-Style Tips for B9 Audi RS5 Sportback

AWE RS5 Sportback Touring exhaust diamond black RS-style tips finishes this non-resonated Touring Edition, engineered, designed, and manufactured in-house in the USA, handcrafted from dual 3″ CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel sourced domestically. The system installs as a direct bolt-on with no cutting or modification required, and AWE’s 180 Technology handles drone cancellation so the cabin stays comfortable at cruise without taking anything away from the tone under hard driving. The exhaust finishes with 180mm diamond black RS-style tips that suit the Sportback’s proportions well. One important note: this system is built for the pre-facelift B9 2019 RS5 and is not designed to fit facelifted 2020+ models, so confirm your build year before ordering.

Touring Edition Exhaust

A true dual 3″ T304L stainless steel system built around a precision-engineered X-pipe developed specifically for the RS5’s 2.9TT, with AWE’s proprietary 180 Technology keeping drone out of the cabin at cruise. The tone is aggressive across the full range; pull back to highway speeds and the interior stays composed. For RS5 Sportback owners who want both edges of that coin, this is the system.

What is 180 Technology?

Exhaust gases move sound waves through the system, bouncing them off the walls of the reflection chambers along the way. AWE’s acoustic engineers set the size and position of the ports and chambers to meet the specific sound targets for each vehicle, and those dimensions precisely control when the reflected waves return to the main exhaust stream. That timing is what matters; it produces a sound wave running 180 degrees out of phase with the unwanted frequencies, and those frequencies are eliminated before the exhaust exits the system.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
