Track Edition Exhaust

If raw and loud is what you’re after, the AWE RS5 Sportback exhaust in Track Edition form delivers. It keeps all the precision engineering of the Touring Edition, including the X-pipe and 3″ diameter tubing, but leaves out the 180 Technology resonator. The result is a system that gets loud and aggressive through the mid-range and at cruising speeds; it is not for everyone, and that is worth knowing before buying. For that reason, this version cannot be returned due to sound preference.

What is 180 Technology?

As exhaust gases leave the RS 5’s 2.9L engine and move through an AWE 180 Technology resonator, they pass through precisely placed ports and into reflection chambers. The sound waves carried by those gases bounce off the chamber walls, and by controlling the size and placement of both the ports and the chambers, AWE controls exactly when those reflected waves re-enter the main exhaust flow. That timing produces a 180-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels the problematic frequencies outright. Note that the Track Edition omits this resonator; it is what defines the Touring Edition’s drone-free character.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
