AWE DualPhase Mid Pipe Conversion Kit for FK8 Honda Civic Type R

The AWE Performance Exhaust Kit for the Honda FK8 Civic Type R is engineered to complement the VTEC Turbo engine with precision. Integrating the DualPhase mid pipe into the system adds critical Helmholtz tuning when paired with the Touring Edition Exhaust and its 180 Technology®-equipped rear section, helping to tame the harsh resonances often introduced by aftermarket downpipes. Alternatively, the mid pipe can be used with the stock components to maintain a refined, OEM+ sound character.

Exhaust Tips

• Each exhaust system is equipped with three 4.5” double-walled, slash-cut tips, available in chrome silver or diamond black, each featuring a stamped AWE logo. The tips are individually adjustable, allowing for customization of their depth into the bumper based on personal preference.

Nope, It’s Not Valved

• During research and development, AWE conducted an extensive evaluation of the factory valve’s behavior under various driving conditions. They determined that there is no significant change in volume between modes requiring a valve. The valve remains closed only in comfort mode, opening upon reaching a throttle threshold. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the valve stays open, with Sport+ introducing burbles from the ECU. In the stock configuration, the exhaust routes through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce interior volume and drone-prone frequencies, and through the center when the valve is open.

Conversion Kits

• AWE has made it simple to convert between Track and Touring Editions if a change in interior volume is desired later.
