AWE C7 Corvette exhaust in Touring Edition axle-back form gives you an aggressive exhaust note without the highway drone, built from 3″ T304L stainless steel and backed by AWE’s patented 180 Technology. If you want a system that stays composed on a long cruise but wakes up when you get into the throttle, this is the one to run. The kit includes over-axle tubes, rear 180 Technology resonators, and individually adjustable 4.5″ double-walled slash-cut tips in diamond black, and it ships with AWE AFM Valve Simulators so it installs cleanly on AFM-equipped cars.

Touring Edition Exhaust

The AWE Touring Edition Axle-Back is built from 3″ T304L stainless steel and uses patented 180 Technology to keep cruising quiet while delivering an aggressive tone under throttle. The kit includes over-axle tubes, rear 180 Technology resonators, and 4.5″ double-walled slash-cut tips in diamond black, with each tip individually adjustable for placement.

What is 180 Technology?

AWE’s 180 Technology works through resonators built with precisely positioned ports and reflection chambers that control sound waves as they move through the exhaust. The chambers reflect those waves back into the main flow 180 degrees out of phase, which cancels the frequencies responsible for drone without choking performance. Port sizing and placement are tuned to each specific platform, so the result is a controlled, consistent exhaust note that cuts out harshness while keeping power and tone intact.

AWE designed the system to allow easy conversion between Track and Touring Editions, giving drivers the ability to adjust cabin sound levels as needed.

Does the AWE C7 Corvette exhaust fit AFM-equipped cars, and what do the included valve simulators do? Yes. The system ships with AWE AFM Valve Simulators, which are required for vehicles equipped with Active Fuel Management, including the 2014-2016 Stingray, Z51 Auto, Z51 Manual, and Grand Sport Auto. AFM shuts down cylinders under light load, and on an axle-back install the simulators keep the ECU reading correctly so no fault codes are stored. On non-AFM cars the simulators are simply not needed. Either way, the axle-back installs as a direct bolt-on with the correct hardware in the box.
Does the AWE C7 Corvette exhaust drone at highway speeds? No. That is the specific purpose of AWE’s 180 Technology resonators built into the Touring Edition axle-back. They cancel the drone-prone frequencies at the source, so the cabin stays composed at a highway cruise while the system still opens up with an aggressive V8 tone under throttle. The 180 Technology resonators use no packing material, so the drone-free character does not degrade over time the way packed mufflers do.
What is the difference between the AWE C7 Corvette exhaust Touring and Track Editions? Both share the same 3″ T304L stainless steel construction and 4.5″ tip options. The Touring Edition includes AWE’s 180 Technology resonators to cancel drone-prone frequencies for a composed highway cabin while still delivering an aggressive tone under throttle. The Track Edition removes those resonators for a louder, unfiltered V8 note at all speeds. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
