Is this swan neck wing for universal fit really universal?

Yes. This swan neck wing for universal fit is a universal part, not listed for any single vehicle. It comes with swan neck pedestals but no mounting bases, so custom fabrication of chassis mounts is required, and the page recommends double-shear mounting.

What are swan neck pedestals and why use them?

Swan neck pedestals hold the wing from above instead of from below. APR says this prevents the flow separation that can reduce downforce on traditional bottom-mount pedestals, and it allows a higher angle of attack before the wing stalls. The page also says it makes more downforce than the standard pedestal GT-250.

What are the pedestal dimensions and mounting distance?

Each pedestal is 32 inches tall, 13.5 inches wide and 3/8 inch thick. The standard pedestal-to-pedestal distance is 23 inches, and custom lengths are available up to 50 inches. Distances over 30 inches add $185.

Does it come with Gurney flaps, and can the angle be adjusted?

Yes to both. Every GT-250 wing comes with Gurney flaps already installed, and angle adjustment holes allow easy tuning of the downforce. The page does not give an angle range, so contact us if you need one.

What is the wing made from, and how big is it?

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) airfoils in 3K pre-preg carbon fiber with a 2×2 twill weave and a UV-stable clear coat, made with high-temperature autoclave and vacuum bagging in aluminum billet molds. The span is up to 71 inches with a 10-inch chord, and the swan neck pedestals are 6061 billet aluminum with a flat black powder coat.

What is the PPF film option, and how long does delivery take?

PPF film is an optional extra for an additional $200, chosen at checkout. The wing is made to order or special order from the manufacturer, so we confirm the estimated lead time after you order. Talk to us first if you have a specific deadline.

Description

APR Performance Carbon Fiber GT-250 71″ Universal Swan Neck Adjustable Wing

Swan neck wing for universal fit: the APR Performance GT-250 Adjustable Wing with Swan Neck pedestals incorporates a streamlined 2D airfoil shape that effectively generates significant downforce while minimizing drag. By utilizing swan neck pedestals, this design prevents flow separation that can diminish downforce in traditional bottom-mount pedestal setups. The swan neck configuration enables a higher Angle-of-Attack (AOA) to be achieved before stalling occurs, surpassing the capabilities of standard bottom-mount pedestals.

Downforce Balance

Front – X
Center – X
Rear – ||||||||

Benefits

More downforce than the GT-250 standard pedestal version
Angle adjustment holes allow for easy tuning of downforce
Reinforced pre-preg carbon fiber withstands extreme loads

Coating: UV-stable clear coat
Wing measurement: Custom span up to 71″, 10″ chord
Hardware: Stainless-steel machine screws, washers, and nuts
Mounting: 6061 billet aluminum brackets / pedestals (no mounting bases included), custom fabrication of chassis-mounts required (double-shear recommended)
Swan neck pedestal dimensions: 32″ overall height x 13.5″ overall width x 3/8″ thickness
Standard swan neck pedestal-to-pedestal length: 23″ (custom lengths can be accommodated up to 50″)

Features

The GT Series wings incorporate an all-new 2D airfoil shape with low drag and exceptional aerodynamics. This “2D” design ensures a consistent level of downforce across the entire span of the wing. To validate its aerodynamic performance, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis was conducted on this wing.
Each airfoil in the GT Series is crafted from lightweight and durable carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite materials. These airfoils feature pre-pregnated woven carbon fiber sheets, which provide superior strength while keeping the weight to a minimum. The manufacturing process involves using pre-pregnated composite techniques, such as high-temperature autoclave and vacuum bagging, with high-quality aluminum billet molds to create all CFRP airfoils.
Supporting the airfoils are 10mm “aircraft grade” 6061 billet aluminum swan neck pedestals that come in a flat black powder coat finish. Each swan neck pedestal is also “knife-edged” at the trailing edge, to minimize the amount of “dirty” air that reaches the airfoil.

What’s Included

Includes Swan Neck Pedestals

Notes

No mounting bases are included; custom fabrication of chassis mounts is required, and double-shear is recommended
The standard pedestal-to-pedestal distance measures 23 inches
APR Performance offers custom mounting distance options, but for distances exceeding 30 inches, an additional charge of $185 applies

About APR Performance

APR Performance designs and builds carbon fiber aerodynamic components at its facility in Chino, California. Its wing families are developed with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and APR publishes the CFD data for its GTC and GT ranges so buyers can compare downforce and drag before choosing a setting. Parts are laid up in pre-preg carbon fiber, cured in an autoclave, finished in a UV-resistant clear coat and covered by a one-year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
