How much can the GTC-200 Adjustable Wing for CZ4A be adjusted?

Angle of attack runs from 0 to 15 degrees, chord depth is variable between 7.5in and 9.5in, and height starts at 7in and goes up. APR rates the wing at an 11 to 1 downforce-to-drag ratio, so winding angle on trades straight-line speed for cornering grip rather than adding drag for nothing.

Does fitting this leave holes in the trunk lid?

No. The mounting bases are sized to cover the factory spoiler and wing holes, so removing the original Evo X wing does not leave the deck lid needing filling and paint. Check the hole spacing against your own car before drilling anything new.

Is the GTC-200 too much wing for a street-driven Evo X?

The GTC-200 Adjustable Wing for CZ4A is the mid-sized wing in the APR range, built for track cars, time attack builds and street-tuned cars that still cover distance. A larger wing makes more downforce and costs more drag. This is the one that stays livable on the road.

What is the wing made from?

The element is pre-impregnated woven carbon fiber cured in an autoclave inside aluminum billet molds, which is what gives it the density and stiffness to hold an airfoil shape under aerodynamic load. The pedestals are machined from 6061 billet aluminum rather than cast.

Is this in stock, or built to order?

APR builds the GTC-200 to order, with a standard lead time of about two weeks before it ships. That matters if the car is booked for an event, so allow for the build window rather than planning around a shelf part.

Description

APR Performance GTC-200 Adjustable Wing for CZ4A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

APR Performance’s GTC-200 Adjustable Wing for CZ4A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X sits in the middle of the APR wing range on purpose: enough downforce to change how an Evo X behaves at the limit, without the drag penalty a full time-attack wing brings with it. The element is a cambered airfoil developed in CFD, and APR rates it at an 11 to 1 downforce-to-drag ratio, which is the number that matters on a car that still has to get down a straight. Angle of attack adjusts from 0 to 15 degrees, so the same wing flattens off for a fast circuit and winds on for a tight one. The mounting bases are sized to cover the factory spoiler holes, so taking the original wing off does not leave the deck lid needing filling and paint.

Pre-Preg Carbon Fiber Construction

The wing element is pre-impregnated woven carbon fiber, cured in an autoclave inside aluminum billet molds rather than soft tooling. That combination is what gets the material density and stiffness high enough to hold an airfoil section under load at speed, and it is also why the part tolerates the heat and stress cycles of repeated track use. The pedestals are machined from 6061 billet aluminum rather than cast, so the mounting hardware is not the weak point in the assembly.

Adjustment Range

Three things move on this wing. Angle of attack runs from 0 to 15 degrees, which is the adjustment most drivers actually use between sessions. Chord depth is variable from 7.5in to 9.5in, and height starts at 7in and goes up, so the element can be positioned in cleaner air rather than wherever the pedestals happen to put it. Winding angle on buys cornering grip and costs straight-line speed, and the 11 to 1 ratio is what makes that trade worth making rather than just slow.

About APR Performance

APR Performance designs and builds carbon fiber aerodynamic components at its facility in Chino, California. Its wing families are developed with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and APR publishes the CFD data for its GTC and GT ranges so buyers can compare downforce and drag before choosing a setting. Parts are laid up in pre-preg carbon fiber, cured in an autoclave, finished in a UV-resistant clear coat and covered by a one-year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
