AL13’s Flow+Technik Series pairs a modern multi-spoke look with lightweight, precision-built performance. Each wheel starts as a forged monoblock and is engineered for strength, reduced mass, and a crisp concave profile, then finished with detailed CNC machining and hands-on refinement. Each style is designed to support brake cooling and caliper clearance without sacrificing rigidity for daily driving or aggressive use, and every wheel is produced from 6061-T6 forged aluminum with long milling cycles, hand finishing, and AL13 run-out standards.

AL13 Manufacturing

• Engineering: AL13 Wheels are designed and manufactured in Southern California, with an emphasis on accurate design, disciplined engineering, and skilled craftsmanship to support long-term performance. With over 70 years of combined forged wheel experience, each set is controlled in-house and validated with FEA testing to balance weight, durability, and strength.
  
• Material: APP Forged Wheels use a one-piece 6061-T6 aerospace forging process to deliver a strong, lightweight wheel free of porosity, welds, and weak points. The process uses heat and pressure to reshape the aluminum’s grain into a high-integrity forged structure, then spin-forges the rim so grain flow aligns with real operating loads for premium strength.
  
• Profile: Lathe turning shapes the forging from both sides to build in concavity while removing unnecessary weight. More than 70% of the original material is machined away in this stage to maximize the strength-to-weight balance.
  
• Milling: After profiling, each forging moves to CNC milling where the final design is cut using dedicated tool sets and precise machining paths, with cycles that can run up to eight hours per wheel. The wheel is then hand-finished through filing, deburring, buffing, and ceramic bead high-luster polishing, followed by a detailed inspection before it moves on to coating.
  
• Prep: Brushing and polishing take the most time and attention in the finishing process and are offered as upgraded options across the AL13 lineup. Brushed finishes bring out the forged grain, while touch-less ceramic polishing delivers a true mirror-like surface.
  
• Finishing: Finishing and assembly are handled to tight standards, with partner finishing resources in Brisbane, Tokyo, and Hamburg and clear-coated transparent options that highlight the underlying brushed or polished work. Every wheel is checked for run-out and must measure under 0.010″, with many testing closer to 0.007″, and assembly is completed using calibrated Digital Snap-On torque wrenches, verified markings, and final sign-off before packaging.

• AL13 Wheels offers two finish paths, Solid and Premium Transparent, with extensive color selection and sheen options including gloss, matte, satin, and textured.
