AL13 Flow+Technik Series FR20 Wheel

AL13’s Flow+Technik Series blends modern multi-spoke styling with a focus on lightweight performance and precision manufacturing. Built around a forged monoblock foundation, each wheel is engineered for strength, reduced mass, and a clean concave profile, then refined through detailed CNC machining and hand finishing. Each wheel addresses the goal of sharper response and better control by pairing a lightweight monoblock forging with designs that leaves the face open for brake cooling and caliper clearance while still keeping a strong spoke structure for daily miles and hard driving. This series uses precision machined 6061-T6 forged aluminum with long milling cycles and detailed hand finishing, then backed by AL13’s run out standards before assembly.

AL13 Manufacturing

• Engineering: AL13 Wheels are designed, engineered, and crafted from the ground up in Southern California, USA, with a focus on precision design, tight engineering standards, and expert craftsmanship to deliver high-quality wheels built for performance and longevity. Backed by over 70 years of combined forged wheel experience, every set is developed with full in-house process control and validated through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) testing to optimize the balance of lightweight construction, durability, and strength.
• Material: APP Forged Wheels use a one-piece 6061-T6 aerospace forging process to produce high-strength, lightweight wheels with no porosity, no welded joints, and maximum structural integrity. High pressure and heat reform the aluminum’s grain structure into a multi-directional forged pattern, then a dedicated spin-forging step forms and strengthens the rim by aligning grain flow radially with real-world loads for premium strength and durability.
• Profile: Lathe turning is a critical step in forged wheel manufacturing, machining the raw forging from both the front and rear to create a profile that maximizes concavity while achieving the greatest weight reduction. During this process, more than 70% of the original material is removed to optimize strength-to-weight performance.
• Milling: Once the wheel profile is complete, each forging moves into the milling stage where the design is fully machined using pre-selected tool sets and precise milling paths, with cycles that can take up to eight hours per wheel to achieve maximum accuracy. After milling, the raw aluminum is meticulously hand-finished through multiple stages of filing, deburring, buffing, and ceramic bead high-luster polishing, then inspected against a detailed zero-compromise checklist before it’s prepped and ready for its final coating.
• Prep: Brushing and polishing are the most detail-focused and time-intensive stages of finishing, offered as upgraded options across every AL13 wheel collection. Brushed finishes highlight the natural forged aluminum grain, while touch-less high-luster ceramic polishing delivers a deep, mirror-like shine.
• Finishing: The finish and assembly stages are where AL13 Wheels set their standard, using hand-selected finishing partners in Brisbane, Tokyo, and Hamburg to deliver premium brushed or polished bases with transparent powder coats that highlight every design detail, with Gloss, Satin, or Texture options available per component. During assembly, each wheel is checked for run-out and only passes QC if it measures under 0.010″ (often as tight as 0.007″), helping eliminate vibration at speed; fasteners are then torqued with calibrated Digital Snap-On torque wrenches, marked for verification, and signed off by expert assemblers before packaging.

• AL13 Wheels offers two distinct finish options, Solid and Premium Transparent. Each can be customized in a range of colors and refined sheens, including gloss, matte, satin, or textured finishes.
