Even though blue might be the predominant color when the Subaru WRX STI comes into mind, followed by black and white exterior finishes, for Souka Thatvihane, going in a wholly different direction was the key to making his ride stand out. Sporting the striking Ignition Red paint finish, this WRX STI certainly stands out. However, the paint finish isn’t the only thing making it special, as a bevy of aftermarket parts from our shop make this a true epitome of tasty JDM tuning in both the performance and visual departments.
The extensive list of modifications starts with the exterior, which, in turn, makes this one of the most appealing & tastefully modded Subarus out there. The vehicle received an APR Performance GTC-500 carbon fiber wing, Varis front bumper, Varis carbon fiber front lip, carbon front splitter, Varis side skirts, Varis rear bumper, Varis carbon fiber rear diffuser, Subispeed v2 sequential headlights, Subispeed carbon fiber tail lights, EVS Tuning carbon mirrors, carbon fiber door handles, carbon fiber roof spoiler, Seibon carbon fiber hood (Varis hood incoming from Japan), carbon fiber hood struts, and finally OEM window visors. Tying it all together is essentially the entire Dress Up Bolts catalog of titanium fasteners.
In the performance department, no stone was left unturned as well: the upgrades consist of the Cobb Accessport, ETS titanium cold air intake, ETS titanium FMIC Grimmspeed catted downpipe, Tomei Titanium catback exhaust, Grimmspeed electronic boost controller, Cobb flex fuel, DW 300c fuel pump, IAG air oil separator, Grimmspeed Up pipe and Tial EWG, finalized with ID 1300cc injectors.
For the interior, the owner went even further. He opted in for a Subispeed carbon fiber steering wheel, Bride Zeta III racing seats, Bride shift boot, Bride ebrake boot, Bride armrest, Takata Drift harnesses, Braum harness bar, Varis carbon fiber shift knob, SMY gauge cluster, AEM AFR gauge, AEM oil pressure gauge, carbon fiber A-pillars, carbon fiber B pillars, carbon fiber defrost vent, carbon fiber side vents, Varis white face gauge cluster, titanium climate control knobs, carbon fiber glove box, and carbon fiber end caps.
Suspension upgrades consist of the Fortune Auto 500 coilovers, a Cusco front strut bar, Cusco rear trunk cross bar, Cusco sway bars, and finally, the Whiteline lower control arms. In turn, this WRX STI not only looks good, but it will put all of its extra power on the road better, whilst providing improved handling. In turn, the upgrades are carefully thought through, resulting in a vehicle that ticks all the performance & visual boxes.
For the wheels, Desmond Regamasters EVO2 makes for a perfectly fitting final touch. They are built in sizes of 18×10 in the front and 18×10 in the rear, a well-known and rather popular square setup that looks & performs great on the WRX, for sure. Furthermore, they come with a Gloss White finish, working really well against the gorgeous red exterior even further. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport AS3+ tires, sized 265/35/18 in the front and 265/35/18 in the rear.
