Are springs included, and which rates can I choose?

Yes, four springs are included. Front rates are 14, 16 or 18 kgf/mm and rear rates 10, 12 or 14 kgf/mm, and TEIN uses 16.0 front with 12.0 rear as its reference pairing. BA goes over the choice with you before the order goes to TEIN.

Will the TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for SE3P fit a 2010 RX-8?

TEIN USA lists this kit for 2004 to 2008 US cars, plus Japanese-market cars from 2003 to 2012. For a 2009 to 2011 US RX-8, TEIN lists its Mono Sport kit, so please ask BA before ordering this one for a later car.

How low will the RX-8 sit?

On a US car, TEIN recommends 1.2 to 2.0 inches below stock at the front and 0.7 to 1.4 inches at the rear. The full range runs from 0.4 to 4.0 inches lower at the front and 0.7 to 2.2 inches lower at the rear.

Can I adjust the damping from inside the car?

Only with TEIN EDFC, an optional electronic controller that swaps each top-mounted knob for a stepping motor. Without it, the 16 levels are set by hand at each damper, with compression and rebound moving together on every click of the adjuster.

Is this kit suitable for a street-driven RX-8?

It can be. The TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for SE3P are aimed at drivers who use circuits often, yet TEIN describes the series as still usable on the street, and full-length adjustment keeps the ride steady when lowered. Mono Sport is the gentler road choice.

Description

TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for SE3P Mazda RX-8

TEIN’s Mono Racing Coilovers for SE3P Mazda RX-8 keep the direct handling of the factory car while cutting body roll and sharpening its response to small steering inputs. TEIN tuned them so the road surface still comes through clearly at the wheel. Springs are picked at order from 14 to 18 kgf/mm at the front and 10 to 14 kgf/mm at the rear, which marks this out as a kit for regular track days rather than relaxed commuting.

Built for Circuit Work

Mono Racing valving comes from TEIN’s Super Racing flagship and its motorsport data. Each mono-tube body keeps oil and gas in separate chambers, so the oil cannot foam and damping stays linear when the rotary car is worked hard. One knob per damper gives 16 combined compression and rebound levels, and full-length adjustment sets height by case length, which leaves stroke alone.

Features

Less body roll and sharper steering response, with factory steering feel kept
Mono-tube dampers with fully separated oil and gas chambers
ADVANCE M.S.V. adjuster that keeps control at very low piston speeds
Full-length height adjustment with little effect on ride quality
EDFC compatible for adjustment from the cabin with an optional controller

About TEIN

TEIN was founded in Yokohama, Japan, in 1985 by former rally mechanic Hakaru Ichino, joined soon after by driver Yoshio Fujimoto. The team reached the World Rally Championship in 1989, and in 1995 Fujimoto won the Safari Rally in a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, the first Japanese driver to do so. TEIN launched its own dampers in 1990 and came to supply around 80 percent of the dampers in the N1 Taikyu endurance series. TEIN USA has served the Americas from Downey, California, since 2001.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
