Are springs included with this kit?

Yes. Four springs ship alongside the four shock absorbers. Up front they are 12.0 kgf/mm, or 672 lbs/in, 175 mm long with a 70 mm inner diameter; at the rear they are 10.0 kgf/mm, or 560 lbs/in, 200 mm long with a 65 mm inner diameter.

Do the Mono Sport Coilovers for XE10 fit the IS 300 SportCross?

Yes. TEIN lists the Mono Sport Coilovers for XE10 for the 2001 to 2005 Lexus IS 300 sedan and SportCross. The Toyota Altezza and the JZX110 Mark II and Verossa are also covered, but those are Japanese-market cars and should be confirmed with BA.

How low can an IS 300 go?

TEIN recommends 1.0 to 1.8 inches below stock at the front and 1.2 to 2.0 inches at the rear. The bodies allow far more, up to 4.1 inches lower in front and 4.9 at the rear, but TEIN publishes the narrower window as its recommendation.

Is the kit too stiff for everyday use?

No. Mono Sport is a road and circuit range, and full-length adjustment means the ride changes little when the car is lowered. The 16-level adjuster can soften the setting for daily miles or firm it up for a winding road at the weekend.

Can damping be adjusted from the cabin?

No, not without an optional TEIN EDFC controller. Out of the box each damper is adjusted by hand at its 16-level knob. EDFC replaces the knob with a stepping motor for 32 levels from the cabin, and EDFC ACTIVE or ACTIVE PRO allow 64 with automatic changes.

Description

TEIN Mono Sport Coilovers for XE10 Lexus IS 300 and Toyota Altezza

TEIN’s Mono Sport Coilovers for XE10 Lexus IS 300 and Toyota Altezza address the slow, loose feel of the factory car, particularly the wobble at the rear. TEIN rebalanced damping against spring rate, 12.0 kgf/mm front and 10.0 rear, so the diagonal pitching through corners and over undulations goes away and traction stays steady. The kit is a good match for an IS 300 driven with spirit on back roads, and more than a stance-only build needs.

Damper Design

Each damper is mono-tube, with oil and gas fully separated, and height is set by case length so stroke and preload never change as the car comes down. That matters on this chassis, where TEIN publishes a front window from 4.1 inches lower to 0.9 higher. Damping moves through 16 levels from a single knob, with compression and rebound adjusted together through ADVANCE M.S.V. valving.

Features

Shell cases in high-strength STKM13C steel with ZTP anti-rust coating
Wrought aluminium spring seats paired with low-friction hard-resin thrust washers
Square-drive adjusting wrench (12.7 mm) fits a spinner handle or torque wrench
EDFC compatible: 32 levels with EDFC, 64 with EDFC ACTIVE or ACTIVE PRO
Model-specific dust boots and clean-room final assembly
The TEIN Mono Sport Coilovers for XE10 can be overhauled and revalved later

About TEIN

TEIN was founded in Yokohama, Japan, in 1985 by former rally mechanic Hakaru Ichino, joined soon after by driver Yoshio Fujimoto. The team reached the World Rally Championship in 1989, and in 1995 Fujimoto won the Safari Rally in a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, the first Japanese driver to do so. TEIN launched its own dampers in 1990 and came to supply around 80 percent of the dampers in the N1 Taikyu endurance series. TEIN USA has served the Americas from Downey, California, since 2001.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
