When is the 1.15 A/R G45 Turbine Housing Kit the right size?

When a twin-scroll engine needs more flow than the 1.01 offers but still wants boost in the midrange. The 1.15 A/R G45 Turbine Housing Kit suits mid-size engines and smaller engines at high boost. Large V8s aimed at the top G45 ratings usually step to 1.28 or 1.44.

How much power do the G45 cores support?

Garrett rates them from 725 horsepower for the GXR45-67 at the low end up to 1475 for the G45-1475, 1610 for the G-Series II G45-1610 and 1800 for the GXR45-82. Garrett bases each rating on compressor choke flow, which makes it a potential flywheel figure rather than a promise.

Can I upgrade to a GXR45 core and keep this housing?

Yes. Garrett states that the GXR45 cores use the same twin-scroll T4 and V-band turbine housings as the G-Series to make the upgrade easy, and lists this housing for all five GXR45 cores. Only the core changes in that swap.

Is the housing standard rotation?

Yes. Turn 14 lists the G45 housings as standard rotation, and each G45, G-Series II and GXR45 core Garrett pairs with it is a standard-rotation core. Mirrored twin-turbo layouts should confirm reverse-rotation availability with us before ordering, since a reverse core needs a matching reverse housing.

What material is the housing?

Stainless steel. Garrett offers its G45 turbine housings in stainless steel and rates the housings used with its G-Series II G45-1610 core up to 1050C, or 1922F. That suits sustained high-boost use, where cast iron housings are more prone to cracking and scaling over time.

Description

Garrett G45 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.15 A/R T4 Divided Inlet V-Band Outlet

Garrett’s G45 Turbine Housing Kit at 1.15 A/R is the second step in the G45 twin-scroll range: stainless steel, a divided T4 inlet, a V-band outlet and an external wastegate layout. It fits all nine G45, G-Series II G45 and GXR45 cores Garrett lists, which share one 89mm turbine wheel. For a mid-size engine on a twin-scroll manifold, or a smaller engine running very high boost, this is a strong first choice that keeps response ahead of the two larger housings. It is not the part for a single V-band collector, which needs the V-band inlet version.

Features

Twin-scroll T4 inlet with a V-band outlet
No internal wastegate, so boost comes from an external gate
Second of four A/R steps in the G45 Turbine Housing Kit range

Garrett G45-1610 G-Series II: 938339-5004S super core, 938338-5004S CHRA
Garrett GXR45-67 G-XRace: 934173-5003S super core
Garrett GXR45-73 G-XRace: 934173-5004S super core
Garrett GXR45-76 G-XRace: 952766-5001S super core

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G45 or GXR45 super core is sold separately
Garrett publishes a maximum turbocharger speed for each core, from 100,000 rpm on the G45-1500, GXR45-76, GXR45-80 and GXR45-82 to 120,000 rpm on the G-Series II G45-1610; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Other A/R sizes and V-band inlet versions are under G45 turbine housings
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
