Which cores fit the G45 Turbine Housing Kit?

Garrett lists this 1.01 A/R G45 Turbine Housing Kit for nine cores: the G45-1475, G45-1500 and G45-1600, the G-Series II G45-1610, and the G-XRace GXR45-67, GXR45-73, GXR45-76, GXR45-80 and GXR45-82. Every one of them uses an 89mm by 82mm turbine wheel.

Is 1.01 A/R too small for a G45?

Not for every build. It is the most response-focused of the four G45 sizes and suits smaller engines in the 2.0L to 8.0L range, or builds that want boost early in the rev range. Engines chasing the upper G45 ratings usually step up to the 1.15, 1.28 or 1.44 A/R.

What does the G45 turbine wheel flow?

Garrett states that the Inconel turbine wheel with an 89mm inducer flows up to 56 lbs per minute, and that the G-Series turbine aero flows 14 percent more than the GTX45R. The wheel is part of the super core; this housing is machined to surround it.

Is a divided manifold needed?

Yes. The T4 inlet on this housing is divided, so it is meant for a twin-scroll manifold with a matching divided T4 flange. A single-entry manifold with a V-band collector pairs with the V-band inlet G45 housing, which Garrett sells in the same four sizes.

Does the housing include a wastegate?

No. Garrett lists all G45 turbine kits as free float, so there is no internal wastegate port, flapper or actuator. The manifold must carry an external wastegate ahead of the turbine, and that gate is sold separately. Size it for the boost target and the exhaust flow the engine produces.

Description

Garrett G45 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.01 A/R T4 Divided Inlet V-Band Outlet

Garrett’s G45 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.01 A/R is the smallest twin-scroll housing for the G45 frame, a stainless steel casting with a divided T4 inlet, a V-band outlet and no internal wastegate. Garrett lists it for nine standard-rotation cores, from the G45-1475 to the G-XRace GXR45-82, rated between 725 and 1800 horsepower on 2.0L to 8.0L engines. This is the G45 housing to choose when response matters most on a twin-scroll manifold, such as a 3.0L to 4.0L six making big boost. On a large V8 aimed at the GXR45-82 rating it will restrict the top end.

Features

Divided T4 inlet for a twin-scroll manifold, V-band outlet
Free-float layout for an external wastegate
Smallest of four A/R sizes in the G45 Turbine Housing Kit range

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G45 or GXR45 super core is sold separately
Garrett publishes a maximum turbocharger speed for each core, from 100,000 rpm on the G45-1500, GXR45-76, GXR45-80 and GXR45-82 to 120,000 rpm on the G-Series II G45-1610; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Garrett also offers 1.15, 1.28 and 1.44 A/R and V-band inlet versions
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
