What comes in the box with the G25-660 Super Core?

The 54mm compressor wheel and 0.70 A/R compressor housing mounted to the center housing rotating assembly, with the oil restrictor and water fittings Garrett lists for the G25. The turbine housing is not part of the G25-660 Super Core, and neither is the speed sensor, so budget for both when planning the build.

How much horsepower will the G25-660 support?

Garrett gives a range of 350 to 660 horsepower for engines displacing 1.4L to 3.0L. The upper figure is the potential flywheel horsepower calculated from the compressor choke flow, not a dyno result, and the engine still needs the fuel, boost and tune to get there.

Which G25 turbine housings fit this core?

Garrett lists five standard-rotation G25 kits: internal wastegate housings in 0.49 A/R with a T25 inlet and in 0.72 and 0.92 A/R with V-band inlets, plus free-float V-band housings in 0.72 and 0.92 A/R. The free-float versions require an external wastegate on the manifold.

Can I upgrade the G25-660 to G-Series II later?

Yes. Garrett designed G-Series II to share the first-generation compressor and turbine housings and calls it a direct upgrade path for Gen I owners. An owner could later fit a G-Series II G25-700 CHRA and keep the housings already on the engine, so confirm part numbers before ordering.

Do I need a tune after installing a G25-660 Super Core?

Yes. A turbocharger of this size changes airflow, boost behavior and fueling demand well beyond any factory calibration, so the engine needs a calibration written for it. Garrett also publishes a 165,000 rpm speed limit, and a speed sensor in the machined compressor port helps the tuner stay below it.

Description

Garrett G25-660 Super Core, 54mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G25-660 Super Core is the high-flow end of the first-generation G25 range: a 54mm compressor wheel and its housing on a standard-rotation center section, ready for whichever G25 turbine housing the build calls for. Garrett rates it at 350 to 660 horsepower on 1.4L to 3.0L engines, which puts it in front of a built four-cylinder that has outgrown the 48mm G25-550 but still needs the packaging of a small frame. On a lightly modified engine making under 400 horsepower it is larger than necessary.

Turbine and Housing Interface

The turbine wheel is Mar-M alloy rated to 1050C (1922F), and Garrett states that its new aerodynamics flow 15 to 20 percent more than GTX with a peak efficiency of 74 percent. The V-band connection between center and turbine housing allows 360 degrees of orientation with Garrett non-wastegated housings.

Features

54mm compressor inducer and 67mm exducer, 65 trim, 0.70 A/R housing
79 percent maximum compressor efficiency, per Garrett
One-piece center housing and backplate
Fully machined speed sensor and pressure ports; oil restrictor and water fittings supplied

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 54mm and 67mm
Compressor trim and A/R: 65 trim, 0.70 A/R
Turbine inducer and exducer: 54mm and 49mm
Turbine trim: 84
Maximum compressor efficiency: 79 percent
Maximum turbocharger speed: 165,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G25-660 standard rotation super core with compressor housing fitted
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G25-660 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 1.4L to 3.0L
Power range: 350 to 660 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Standard-rotation turbine kits: 0.49 A/R T25, 0.72 and 0.92 A/R V-band internal wastegate; 0.72 and 0.92 A/R V-band free float

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett lists G25 turbine housing kits for standard rotation
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 165,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
