Is the 1.25 A/R G57 Turbine Housing Kit a safe default?

For many builds, yes. The 1.25 A/R G57 Turbine Housing Kit is the middle of three sizes, so it balances boost onset against high-rpm flow. Smaller engines may prefer the 1.09 A/R and the largest, highest-flowing engines the 1.41 A/R, but the 1.25 covers a wide middle.

Will it fit a G-XRace GXR57?

Yes. Garrett lists this housing for the GXR57-88, GXR57-94 and GXR57-98 super cores as well as the five G-Series G57 cores. All of them share the 118mm by 112mm turbine wheel, so the housing does not change when moving between the two families.

Can I use a G55 housing on a G57 core?

No. The G55 uses a 112mm inducer, 106mm exducer turbine wheel, while the G57 wheel is 118mm by 112mm. Garrett lists separate housings for each, and the G57 housings come only in 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R with V-band inlet and outlet.

Does this housing come with clamps?

Garrett does not publish what ships in its G57 turbine kits. Plan on V-band clamps sized to the manifold collector and downpipe flanges, and ask Bulletproof Automotive to confirm the current contents before ordering so the install is not delayed waiting on parts.

How do I control boost with this housing?

Fit an external wastegate. The housing has no internal gate, so the manifold needs a wastegate flange ahead of the turbine inlet. Engines feeding a turbocharger of this size need a large wastegate valve, and Garrett offers its GVW range up to a 60mm valve.

Description

Garrett G57 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.25 A/R V-Band In and Out, Free Float

Garrett’s G57 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.25 A/R is the middle size of the three G57 housings, a stainless V-band inlet and outlet free-float housing that most G57 and GXR57 builds can start from. It gives up a little of the 1.09 A/R housing’s boost onset in exchange for lower backpressure as engine speed climbs, which makes it a fit for large engines that still need to drive well off the line. If the target is the very top of a G57-3000 or GXR57-98 rating on a big engine, the 1.41 A/R is the stronger choice.

Matching Housing and Compressor

Garrett rates the G57 cores from 1400 to 3000 horsepower and the GXR57 cores from 1200 to 2900, all calculated from compressor choke flow as potential flywheel horsepower. Because the turbine side is shared, the same 1.25 A/R housing can stay on the manifold while the compressor is changed.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
