How does the G57-2750 Super Core differ from the G55-2650?

Both use a 102mm by 144mm compressor in a 0.96 A/R housing and share the 74,500 rpm limit. The G57-2750 Super Core adds the larger 118mm G57 turbine, lifts the rating to 2750 horsepower and raises the bottom of the range to 1400. Its turbine kits come only with a V-band inlet.

What power range is the G57-2750 rated for?

Garrett gives 1400 to 2750 horsepower on 3.0L to 12.0L engines. The figure comes from the choke flow of the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower, so the engine, fuel, boost, turbine housing and calibration all decide where it finishes.

What is the maximum speed for the G57-2750?

Garrett lists 74,500 rpm, lower than the 84,000 rpm allowed on the 88mm to 98mm G57 cores. Running above it is at the risk of the owner and can result in damage and premature failure, so a speed sensor in the compressor housing belongs on the build list.

What oil and cooling setup does it need?

Oil only. Garrett states the G57 center housing is air cooled, and recommends a -3AN or -4AN oil feed with 40 to 45 psi at maximum engine speed. A restrictor with a 0.040 inch orifice will normally suffice, according to Garrett, and the oil filter should meet or exceed OEM specification.

Which turbine housing should I choose?

Garrett offers three G57 kits, all V-band in and out with no internal wastegate: 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R. On a core rated this high, the 1.25 and 1.41 A/R suit the large, high-rpm engines it is meant for, and the 1.09 favors earlier boost.

Description

Garrett G57-2750 Super Core, 102mm Inducer 0.96 A/R Compressor Housing

Garrett’s G57-2750 Super Core moves to a 102mm inducer and 144mm exducer compressor in a 0.96 A/R housing over the 118mm G57 turbine, and Garrett rates it at 1400 to 2750 horsepower on 3.0L to 12.0L engines. The larger compressor brings a lower speed limit of 74,500 rpm. It is a part for big-displacement, high-boost engines where both compressor and turbine capacity are the limit; for builds below 2000 horsepower, a G57-2350 or G57-2550 will be a closer match.

Design

Garrett credits the optimized G-Series turbine wheel with up to 28 percent more flow than GTX. The center housing is one aluminum piece that reduces super core weight, it is air cooled, and it carries a 16mm dual ceramic ball bearing cartridge with steel cages. Garrett offers three V-band turbine housings for it in 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R.

Features

102mm by 144mm compressor wheel in a 0.96 A/R housing
118mm G-Series turbine wheel shared with every G57
Outline interchangeable with GTX Gen II turbochargers

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 102mm and 144mm
Compressor housing A/R: 0.96
Turbine inducer and exducer: 118mm and 112mm
Turbine trim: 90
Bearing system: 16mm ceramic dual ball bearing, steel cages
Maximum turbocharger speed: 74,500 rpm

Applications

The G57-2750 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 3.0L to 12.0L
Power range: 1400 to 2750 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G57 1.09, 1.25 and 1.41 A/R free float, V-band inlet and outlet

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett sells the G57 turbine housing kits separately
All three G57 turbine kits are free float, so an external wastegate is required
Garrett recommends a -3AN or -4AN oil feed, a restrictor with a 0.040 inch orifice in most cases, and 40 to 45 psi of oil pressure at maximum engine speed
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 74,500 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
