What do I get with the G25-700 G-Series II CHRA?

The center housing rotating assembly only: the one-piece center housing and backplate, the bearing cartridge, the shaft with its Mar-M turbine wheel and the 54mm compressor wheel. It needs a compressor housing and a turbine housing to run. The G25-700 super core adds the compressor housing, and the complete turbocharger adds both.

How much horsepower is the G25-700 rated for?

Garrett rates the G25-700 G-Series II CHRA at 350 to 700 horsepower on 1.4L to 3.0L engines. Garrett calculates the number from compressor choke flow and presents it as potential flywheel horsepower, so the actual figure depends on fuel, boost, intercooling, turbine housing A/R and the calibration.

Can I put this core in my G25-660 housings?

Garrett states that G-Series II uses the Gen I compressor and turbine housings and that existing Gen I customers can reuse their compressor cover when upgrading with just a CHRA. A standard-rotation first-generation G25 setup is the intended home for this core. Confirm the compressor housing against the Garrett flange diagram before ordering.

Is the G25-700 too big for my engine?

It can be. The 54mm compressor suits engines that will use the airflow, typically a built 2.0L to 3.0L on a strong fuel system. On a mild build the G25-585, with its 48mm inducer, comes on boost earlier and still reaches 585 horsepower by Garrett rating, which is more than many street engines will use.

What turbine housings fit the G25-700 G-Series II CHRA?

Garrett lists five standard-rotation G25 turbine kits: 0.72 and 0.92 A/R V-band housings with an external wastegate, the same two sizes with an internal wastegate, and a 0.49 A/R T25 inlet housing with an internal wastegate. All are stainless steel and rated to 1050 degrees Celsius.

Description

Garrett G25-700 G-Series II CHRA, Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G25-700 G-Series II CHRA is the largest compressor option in the G25 frame, sold as the bare center section: a 54mm inducer compressor wheel, the Mar-M turbine wheel and the one-piece center housing, in standard rotation. Garrett rates it at 350 to 700 horsepower on engines from 1.4L to 3.0L, so it belongs on a built four-cylinder or small six with the fuel system to use it. Owners already running a first-generation G25 can fit it into their existing housings, which is the cheapest way to the top of the G25 range. For a lightly modified engine it is too much compressor, and the G25-585 will make boost sooner.

Turbine and Compressor

The new turbine wheel is Mar-M superalloy rated to 1050C (1922F). Garrett states it flows 15 to 20 percent more than GTX with a peak efficiency of 74 percent. On the compressor side, the G-Series II aerodynamics give up to 10 percent more flow than Gen I at peak pressure ratio and peak turbo speed.

Features

54mm compressor inducer, the biggest wheel Garrett offers in the G25 frame
One-piece center housing and backplate with twin piston rings at both ends of the shaft
Reuses Gen I G25 compressor and turbine housings for a core-only upgrade

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5449
Compressor inducer and exducer: 54mm and 67mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 54mm and 49mm
Maximum turbocharger speed: 160,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard
Matching super core: 934075-5002S

Applications

The G25-700 G-Series II CHRA is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 1.4L to 3.0L
Power range: 350 to 700 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett G25 turbine kits, standard rotation: 0.72 and 0.92 A/R V-band, external or internal wastegate, plus 0.49 A/R T25 internal wastegate

Notes

Neither the compressor housing nor the turbine housing is included; the G25-700 super core ships with its compressor housing
Garrett also builds the G25-700 as a complete turbocharger in 0.49, 0.72 and 0.92 A/R
Garrett states that running above 160,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately and fits the compressor housing

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
