Which turbine housings suit the G35-1050 Super Core?

Garrett lists standard-rotation G35 kits as free-float housings in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R with a V-band inlet, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R with a T3 inlet, and 1.06 A/R with a divided T4 inlet, plus 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band internal wastegate housings for an internally gated setup.

What horsepower rating does the G35-1050 carry?

Garrett rates the G35-1050 Super Core at 700 to 1050 horsepower on 2.0L to 5.5L engines. The figure is based strictly on the choke flow of the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower, so the supporting parts and calibration decide what the engine delivers.

Is there an assembled G35-1050 turbo?

Yes. Garrett builds standard-rotation G35-1050 turbochargers with V-band internal wastegate housings in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R, fully assembled and calibrated with a 0.5 bar actuator. The super core is the better buy for free-float, T3 or divided T4 housings, or for a builder who already owns a G35 turbine housing.

How should the oil and water lines be plumbed?

Garrett includes a -4AN oil restrictor with a 1mm orifice, which supplies the recommended 40 psi of oil pressure, and two -6AN water fittings with two plugs. Garrett recommends running the water lines on opposite sides of the housing, so plan the routing before the core goes onto the manifold.

What is the speed limit of the G35-1050?

Garrett lists a maximum allowable speed of 130,000 rpm, lower than the 145,000 rpm of the 62mm G35-900. Running beyond it is at the risk of the owner and can cause damage. The machined speed sensor port in the compressor housing accepts the Garrett sensor kit, sold separately.

Description

Garrett G35-1050 Super Core, 68mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G35-1050 Super Core is the larger of the first-generation G35 compressors, a 68mm wheel and 0.75 A/R housing on a standard-rotation center section with the 68mm G35 turbine. Garrett rates it at 700 to 1050 horsepower across 2.0L to 5.5L, the range where a built six-cylinder or a small V8 chases four-figure numbers. It does not suit an engine that will stay under 700 horsepower, where the G35-900 or a G30 is the closer match, and it needs a fuel system to match its flow.

Turbine Wheel

Garrett states that the Mar-M super alloy turbine wheel flows 15 to 20 percent more than GTX and reaches 74 percent peak efficiency, and it is rated for exhaust temperatures up to 1050C (1922F). The V-band joint between center housing and turbine housing can be clocked through 360 degrees with non-wastegated Garrett housings.

Features

68mm compressor inducer, 84mm exducer, 65 trim, 78 percent maximum efficiency
One-piece center housing and backplate
Shorter bearing cartridge with twin piston rings on each side of the shaft
Supplied with a -4AN oil restrictor and two -6AN water fittings

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 68mm and 84mm
Compressor trim and A/R: 65 trim, 0.75 A/R
Turbine inducer and exducer: 68mm and 62mm
Turbine trim: 84
Maximum compressor efficiency: 78 percent
Maximum turbocharger speed: 130,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G35-1050 standard rotation super core with compressor housing fitted
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G35-1050 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 5.5L
Power range: 700 to 1050 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Standard-rotation turbine kits: Free float in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R V-band, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R T3, 1.06 A/R T4 divided; internal wastegate in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett lists G35 turbine housing kits for standard rotation
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 130,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
