What is in the box with the G35-900 Super Core?

The center housing rotating assembly with the 62mm compressor wheel and 0.72 A/R compressor housing fitted, plus the oil restrictor and water fittings Garrett lists for the G35. The turbine housing is not included, nor is the speed sensor, so both should be ordered with the core.

Which turbine housings fit?

Garrett lists standard-rotation G35 free-float housings in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R with a V-band inlet, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R with a T3 inlet and 1.06 A/R with a divided T4 inlet, and internal wastegate V-band housings in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R. A twin-scroll manifold suits the divided T4.

How much horsepower does the G35-900 Super Core support?

Garrett rates the G35-900 Super Core at 550 to 900 horsepower on engines of 2.0L to 5.5L. The rating comes from the choke flow of the compressor map and is described as potential flywheel horsepower; the engine build and calibration determine how much of it a particular setup uses.

Should I buy the G35-900 or the G-Series II G35-990?

The G35-990 uses the same 62mm inducer, turbine and housings with second-generation compressor aero, which Garrett says flows up to 10 percent more at peak pressure ratio and speed. It is rated to 990 horsepower but limited to 140,000 rpm. The G35-900 still suits builds that will finish below 900 horsepower.

What maximum speed does Garrett list for the G35-900?

Garrett lists 145,000 rpm, the same limit as the G30-900, which shares the 62mm compressor. Exceeding it is at the risk of the owner and can cause premature failure, so a speed sensor in the machined compressor housing port is worth fitting on any build that runs near the top of the map.

Description

Garrett G35-900 Super Core, 62mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G35-900 Super Core pairs a 62mm compressor wheel with the 68mm G35 turbine in standard rotation, the first-generation G35 for engines that need turbine flow more than compressor size. Garrett rates it at 550 to 900 horsepower on 2.0L to 5.5L engines, which covers a built 3.0L six through a 5.0L V8. A 2.0L focused on response will find the turbine large for its exhaust flow, and a target over 900 horsepower calls for the G35-1050.

Turbine and Housings

The Mar-M super alloy turbine wheel is rated to 1050C (1922F). Garrett offers G35 free-float housings with T4 divided, T3 and V-band inlets, and also sells fully assembled standard-rotation internal wastegate turbochargers calibrated with a 0.5 bar actuator.

Features

62mm compressor inducer and 76mm exducer, 77 percent maximum efficiency
One-piece center housing and backplate with twin piston rings
V-band center-to-turbine joint, clockable 360 degrees with non-wastegated housings
Oil restrictor and water fittings supplied

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 62mm and 76mm
Compressor trim and A/R: 65 trim, 0.72 A/R
Turbine inducer and exducer: 68mm and 62mm
Turbine trim: 84
Maximum compressor efficiency: 77 percent
Maximum turbocharger speed: 145,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G35-900 standard rotation super core with compressor housing fitted
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G35-900 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 5.5L
Power range: 550 to 900 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Standard-rotation turbine kits: Free float in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R V-band, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R T3, 1.06 A/R T4 divided; internal wastegate in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett lists G35 turbine housing kits for standard rotation
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 145,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
