What engines was the G45-1475 Super Core designed for?

Garrett states it was designed for high-horsepower applications such as the BMW S58 and B58, and sizes the core for 2.0L to 8.0L engines. It is not vehicle specific, so the manifold, oil and water lines and the calibration come from the builder or a platform specialist.

How does the G45-1475 differ from the G45-1500 and G45-1600?

The compressor wheel. The G45-1475 uses a 79mm inducer and 98mm exducer at 65 trim, while the G45-1500 and G45-1600 use a 109mm exducer with 76mm and 80mm inducers. All three share the 89mm Inconel turbine wheel and fit the same eight G45 turbine kits.

How much power can the G45-1475 Super Core support?

Garrett rates the G45-1475 Super Core at 750 to 1475 horsepower. Like every Garrett rating, the number comes from the choke flow of the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower. Where an engine lands within that window depends on displacement, fuel, boost and the tune.

Which turbine housing should I pair with it?

Garrett offers G45 kits in 1.01, 1.15, 1.28 and 1.44 A/R, each with a V-band inlet or a T4 divided inlet and a V-band outlet. Garrett states the 1.44 A/R T4 housing flows 57 lb/min, 14 percent more than the GTX45 wheel. All of the kits require an external wastegate.

What is the maximum turbo speed for the G45-1475?

Garrett publishes a limit of 114,000 rpm. Running above it is at the risk of the owner and can result in damage and premature failure. Fitting a speed sensor to the machined port in the compressor housing gives the tuner a direct reading, and the sensor kit is sold separately.

Description

Garrett G45-1475 Super Core, 79mm Compressor Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G45-1475 Super Core pairs a 79mm, 65 trim compressor wheel with the larger 89mm Inconel turbine of the G45 frame, rated at 750 to 1475 horsepower on 2.0L to 8.0L engines. Garrett designed it for high-horsepower engines such as the BMW S58 and B58, and chose the large-trim wheel for maximum flow with good boost response. It is aimed at engines already making serious power; below 750 horsepower it sits under its own rating, and a G42 is the better fit.

Turbine and Bearings

Garrett states that the G-Series turbine aerodynamics flow 14 percent more than the GTX45R, and that the 89mm Inconel turbine wheel flows up to 56 lb/min. The shaft rides on a dual ceramic ball bearing with steel cages, behind a lightweight aluminum backplate.

Features

Large 65 trim compressor wheel for maximum flow and optimal boost response, per Garrett
Fully machined speed sensor and pressure ports
Water fittings included with the super core

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 79mm and 98mm
Compressor trim: 65
Compressor housing A/R: 0.85
Turbine inducer and exducer: 89mm and 82mm
Turbine trim: 84
Bearing system: Dual ceramic ball bearing, steel cages
Maximum turbocharger speed: 114,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G45-1475 super core with compressor housing fitted
Water fittings

Applications

The G45-1475 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 8.0L
Power range: 750 to 1475 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G45 1.01, 1.15, 1.28 and 1.44 A/R free float, each with a V-band inlet or a T4 divided inlet and a V-band outlet

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett sells the G45 turbine housing kits separately
All eight G45 turbine kits are free float, so an external wastegate is required
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 114,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
