Which engines suit the GTX3576R Gen II Assembly Kit in 1.01 A/R?

Larger ones. Garrett sizes the GTX3576R Gen II Assembly Kit for 2.0L to 4.5L, and the 1.01 A/R is the biggest V-band housing on its list, so it fits engines toward the top of that displacement range or builds that rev high and prioritize peak power over early boost.

Why choose 1.01 A/R over 0.83 A/R?

To reduce exhaust backpressure at high engine speed. The 1.01 A/R passage slows exhaust gas less, which lets a large engine breathe and holds power near redline. The 0.83 A/R spools sooner and suits mid-size engines. Garrett publishes turbine flow maps for the GTX35 housings to compare them.

What power can it support?

Garrett rates the GTX3576R Gen II at 400 to 750 horsepower. Like all Garrett ratings, the figure is calculated from choke flow on the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower, so the fuel system, boost and calibration decide the result on a given engine.

Does the kit come as one assembled turbocharger?

No. Garrett ships the 851154-5003S super core, which includes the compressor housing, and the 740902-0031 turbine housing kit in separate boxes with a gasket kit. Assembling them lets the installer clock the V-band housing to suit the manifold and downpipe.

Is there a reverse-rotation GTX3576R Gen II?

Yes. Garrett lists reverse-rotation super core 844626-5003S and reverse GT35R V-band housings in 0.61, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R, intended for twin-turbo layouts where the turbochargers mirror each other. This kit is the standard-rotation version, and each side of a twin setup needs parts of its own rotation.

Description

Garrett GTX3576R Gen II Assembly Kit, 1.01 A/R V-Band Free Float

Garrett’s GTX3576R Gen II Assembly Kit with the 1.01 A/R housing is built for big-displacement engines, using super core 851154-5003S and the largest V-band GT35R turbine housing kit Garrett offers for it, part 740902-0031. With a 58mm compressor rated at 400 to 750 horsepower and a 68mm turbine in a free-flowing housing, it keeps exhaust backpressure low on engines toward the 4.5L end of Garrett’s 2.0L to 4.5L range. A large six or a small V8 on an external wastegate manifold is where it makes sense; a 2.0L engine would wait too long for boost.

Features

Gen II compressor wheel with a 58mm inducer, which Garrett says supports up to 20 percent more horsepower than Gen I
Fully machined speed sensor port, plugged from the factory and opened with a 5mm Allen key
1.01 A/R free-float housing with V-band joints at both ends, clockable to the manifold and downpipe

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5862
Compressor inducer and exducer: 58mm and 76mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 68mm and 62mm
Turbine housing: 1.01 A/R, V-band inlet and V-band outlet
Wastegate: External (free float)
Bearing system: 8mm dual ceramic ball bearing
Maximum turbocharger speed: 145,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

GTX3576R Gen II super core 851154-5003S with compressor housing
GT35R turbine housing kit 740902-0031, 1.01 A/R, V-band inlet and V-band outlet
Gasket kit

Applications

The GTX3576R Gen II Assembly Kit is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 4.5L
Power range: 400 to 750 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Manifold requirement: V-band turbine flange with an external wastegate

Notes

Ships as an assembly kit: super core and turbine housing kit in separate boxes, bolted together by the installer
An external wastegate is required, because this turbine housing has no internal wastegate
The GT and GTX version of the Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 145,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause damage and premature failure
More housing sizes for this core are in the GTX3576R Gen II range

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
