When does the 1.08 A/R G47 Turbine Housing Kit make sense?

When the engine needs more exhaust flow than the 0.96 allows but still wants boost in the midrange. The 1.08 A/R G47 Turbine Housing Kit suits mid-size engines within the 2.5L to 10.0L range Garrett gives for G47 cores, and is a sound first choice.

What turbine wheel does this housing surround?

Every core Garrett lists for it uses a G-Series turbine wheel with a 93mm inducer and an 88mm exducer. Garrett states that this turbine aero flows up to 20 percent more than the GTX47 Gen II, with spool estimated up to 9 percent quicker.

What kind of inlet flange does the manifold need?

A T6 flange. Garrett lists all four G47 housings with a T6 inlet and a V-band outlet, and none of them are divided. The manifold collector must end in a matching T6 flange, and the downpipe needs a V-band flange to suit the outlet.

Can I change from a G47 to a GXR47 core and keep this housing?

Yes. Garrett lists the same four G47 turbine kits on the G47 and GXR47 product pages, and the GXR47 cores use the same 93mm by 88mm turbine wheel. Swapping the core keeps this housing, the manifold and the downpipe in place.

Does the kit include a super core?

No. This part number is the turbine housing alone. The center section, rotating assembly and compressor housing come as a G47 or GXR47 super core, sold separately, so the builder can choose the compressor size and this exhaust housing independently.

Description

Garrett G47 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.08 A/R T6 Inlet V-Band Outlet

Garrett’s G47 Turbine Housing Kit at 1.08 A/R is the second size in the G47 range, a stainless steel housing with a T6 inlet, a V-band outlet and an external wastegate layout. It fits the same eight cores as its siblings, from the G47-1550 to the GXR47-80 with a 123mm exducer, all sized for 2.5L to 10.0L. For a mid-size V8 or a large six that wants a strong midrange without giving away too much at the top, this is the logical starting housing. It spools later than the 0.96, and an internally gated manifold cannot use it.

Features

T6 inlet flange and V-band outlet, stainless steel
No internal wastegate; boost is held by an external gate
Second of four A/R steps in the G47 Turbine Housing Kit range
Outlet length 17mm shorter than the GTX T6 housing, which Garrett did to save weight

Specifications

Garrett part number: 761208-0076
A/R: 1.08
Turbine inlet and outlet: T6 and V-band
Divided inlet: No
Wastegate: External (free float)
Material: Stainless steel
Matching turbine wheel: 93mm inducer and 88mm exducer

Applications

This G47 Turbine Housing Kit fits these Garrett cores:

Garrett G47-1550: 880547-5023S super core
Garrett G47-1650, 109mm exducer: 880547-5024S super core
Garrett G47-1650, 120mm exducer: 880547-5025S super core
Garrett G47-1850: 880547-5026S super core
Garrett GXR47-76, 116mm exducer: 953234-5001S super core
Garrett GXR47-76, 123mm exducer: 953234-5006S super core
Garrett GXR47-80, 116mm exducer: 953234-5004S super core
Garrett GXR47-80, 123mm exducer: 953234-5007S super core

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G47 or GXR47 super core is sold separately
Garrett publishes a maximum turbocharger speed of 102,500 rpm for most G47 and GXR47 cores and 93,000 rpm for the G47-1650 with 120mm exducer and the G47-1850; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Other A/R sizes are listed under G47 turbine housings
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
