Can I move from a G50-1700 to the G50-1900 Super Core and keep my turbine housing?

Yes. Garrett states that all G-Series G50 models are interchangeable, so the supercore can be swapped into any G50 turbine housing. The G50-1900 Super Core adds an 88mm inducer and 120mm exducer compressor, and the engine will need a new calibration for the larger compressor.

How much horsepower is the G50-1900 rated for?

Garrett rates it at 1000 to 1900 horsepower on 2.5L to 11.0L engines. Garrett calculates the number from the choke flow of the compressor map, which makes it potential flywheel horsepower, and fuel, boost, turbine housing size and the calibration settle the real figure.

What turbine housings does Garrett list for the G50?

Four free-float G50 kits in 0.96, 1.08, 1.23 and 1.39 A/R, each with a T6 inlet and a V-band outlet. Garrett states the 1.39 A/R housing flows 64 lb/min. Every kit needs an external wastegate, since none of them has an internal one.

Is the G50-1900 compatible with GTX50 Gen II mounting?

Yes. Garrett lists the G50 range as outline interchangeable with GTX Gen II turbochargers. One difference to plan for is the T6 turbine housing outlet, which Garrett shortened by 17mm compared with the GTX to save weight, so the downpipe joint may need to move.

What is the speed limit of the G50-1900?

Garrett lists 93,000 rpm, lower than the 102,500 rpm of the 80mm G50-1700. Running above 93,000 rpm is at the risk of the owner and can result in damage and premature failure, so a speed sensor in the compressor housing is worth fitting while boost is dialed in.

Description

Garrett G50-1900 Super Core, 88mm Compressor Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G50-1900 Super Core is the largest G50, an 88mm inducer, 120mm exducer compressor wheel on the 99mm G-Series turbine, rated at 1000 to 1900 horsepower on 2.5L to 11.0L engines. It is the G50 for builds whose compressor demand has outgrown the 80mm G50-1700, and its four-figure lower bound makes it a part for engines already well into big-power territory. An engine that will stay under 1000 horsepower sits below the bottom of the rating and should look at a smaller frame.

Design and Performance

Garrett states the G-Series turbine wheel flows up to 23 percent more than the GTX50 Gen II with up to 12 percent better spool, both estimated from flow, efficiency and inertia, and that the 1.39 A/R T6 turbine housing flows 64 lb/min, 20 percent more than the GTX50 turbine wheel. The center housing and backplate are a single lightweight aluminum part.

Features

88mm by 120mm compressor wheel with GTX Gen II aerodynamics
Outline interchangeable with GTX Gen II turbochargers
Swaps into any G50 turbine housing, according to Garrett

Specifications

Compressor inducer and exducer: 88mm and 120mm
Compressor trim: 54
Compressor housing A/R: 0.88
Turbine inducer and exducer: 99mm and 94mm
Turbine trim: 90
Maximum turbocharger speed: 93,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

Applications

The G50-1900 Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.5L to 11.0L
Power range: 1000 to 1900 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Garrett turbine kits: G50 0.96, 1.08, 1.23 and 1.39 A/R free float, T6 inlet and V-band outlet

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett sells the G50 turbine housing kits separately
All four G50 turbine kits are free float, so an external wastegate is required
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 93,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can result in damage and premature failure

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
