What is different about the V-band inlet G55 Turbine Housing Kit?

The joint to the manifold. This G55 Turbine Housing Kit clamps to a V-band collector rather than bolting to a T6 flange, which lets the housing be clocked freely and removed quickly. The A/R, stainless material, turbine wheel fitment and free-float layout match the T6 inlet 1.24 A/R version.

Will this housing bolt to my T6 manifold?

No. This version needs a manifold or collector finished with a matching V-band inlet flange. For a T6 manifold, Garrett lists the 1.24 A/R T6 inlet housing, part 761208-0073, which shares the A/R and core fitment. Check the collector flange before ordering, because the two inlets are not interchangeable.

Which A/R sizes come with a V-band inlet?

Two. Garrett offers the V-band inlet G55 housing in 1.24 A/R, this part, and 1.40 A/R, part 761208-0070. The smaller 1.00 and 1.12 A/R sizes are only made with a T6 inlet flange, so a builder who wants a tighter housing on a V-band manifold would need an adapter or a different manifold.

Is the housing suitable for a GXR55 core?

Yes. Garrett lists it for the G-XRace GXR55-88, GXR55-91, GXR55-94 and GXR55-98, including the two map groove GXR55-88 versions, as well as all seven G-Series G55 cores, because they share the 112mm by 106mm turbine wheel. A core upgrade within those families can keep this housing.

Do I still need a wastegate?

Yes, an external one. The housing is free float with no wastegate of its own, so the manifold needs a wastegate port upstream of the V-band collector. Garrett GVW wastegates are sold in 40mm to 60mm valve sizes, and the larger valves suit the exhaust flow of a G55 engine.

Description

Garrett G55 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.24 A/R V-Band Inlet, Free Float

Garrett’s G55 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.24 A/R with a V-band inlet is the clamp-on alternative to the T6 version of the same size: stainless, free float, with V-band joints at both the inlet and the outlet. It suits a fabricated manifold built around a V-band collector, where the housing can be clocked to clear the chassis and removed without studs or bolts. The A/R itself is a mid-to-large choice for G55 and GXR55 builds on engines with real displacement. If the manifold already carries a T6 flange, the T6 inlet 1.24 A/R is the correct part, not this one.

V-Band Inlet

A V-band inlet joins the housing to the manifold with a single clamp instead of a bolted flange, which makes clocking the housing simple and speeds removal at the track or on the bench. Garrett offers the V-band inlet G55 housing in 1.24 and 1.40 A/R only.

Features

V-band inlet and V-band outlet, clockable at both joints
1.24 A/R volute for large-displacement engines that need flow and still want reasonable spool
Stainless steel, free-float design for an external wastegate
The V-band G55 Turbine Housing Kit fits G55 and GXR55 cores alike

Specifications

Garrett part number: 761208-0069
A/R: 1.24

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
