Which cores does Garrett list for the G30 Wastegate Turbine Housing?

Garrett lists it for every standard-rotation G30 super core, from the G30-660 and G30-770 to the G30-900, and for the G-Series II G30-725 and G30-825. Its own assembled 0.83 A/R G30 turbochargers, such as 880704-5002S and 934118-5001S, use the same internally gated V-band layout.

Is it only for the G30-725?

No. Turn 14 names this part after the G30-725, but Garrett lists it for every standard-rotation G30 core, first generation and G-Series II. The G30 Wastegate Turbine Housing fits the G30-660, G30-725, G30-770, G30-825 and G30-900 super cores, so the name on the box does not limit the core choice.

Should I choose internal or external wastegate for my G30?

Internal suits builds that want a simpler manifold, fewer parts and a compact installation, which is common on 2.0L to 3.0L single-turbo engines. External gives more freedom over gate size and placement and is the only option for reverse rotation. Garrett offers both for standard-rotation G30 cores.

How do 0.83 and 1.01 A/R compare here?

The 0.83 A/R brings boost in sooner and suits small and mid-size engines, while the 1.01 A/R, part 740902-0095, lowers back pressure at high rpm for larger engines or higher power targets. Both are internally gated V-band housings for the same standard-rotation G30 cores.

Can this housing be clocked freely?

Not with the freedom of a free-float housing. Garrett states that 360 degree orientation applies when its center housing is fitted with non-wastegated turbine housings, and makes no such statement for internally gated ones. Check the wastegate and actuator position against the manifold and chassis before final assembly.

Description

Garrett G30 Wastegate Turbine Housing, 0.83 A/R V-Band

Garrett’s G30 Wastegate Turbine Housing in 0.83 A/R is the internally gated V-band housing for standard-rotation G30 cores, letting a G30 control its own boost with no external wastegate on the manifold. Garrett lists part 740902-0094 against the G30-660, G30-770 and G30-900 and the G-Series II G30-725 and G30-825, and builds its assembled 0.83 A/R G30 turbochargers on the same layout. It suits a 2.0L to 3.0L engine where a simpler manifold and tidy packaging matter. A build already carrying an external gate, or one heading for a twin-turbo layout, needs a free-float housing instead.

Internal Wastegate Design

Garrett describes its internally wastegated G-Series housings as compact and efficient, with the largest wastegate port it could design in, to reduce boost creep and improve boost control. That matters on a G30, where exhaust flow at full load is high. The stainless casting is rated to 1050C (1922F) and shared by both G-Series generations.

Features

Wastegate port built into the housing, no manifold-mounted gate required
V-band turbine inlet and outlet
0.83 A/R, the more responsive of the two internally gated G30 sizes
Fits first-generation and G-Series II G30 cores

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
