Should I choose the 1.44 A/R G45 Turbine Housing Kit for an 8.0L engine?

Often, yes. The 1.44 A/R G45 Turbine Housing Kit is the largest G45 size, and an engine near 8.0L makes enough exhaust flow to spool it while gaining from the lower backpressure. For more midrange, compare it with the 1.28 on the Garrett turbine flow chart.

Is there a twin-scroll version in this size?

Yes. Garrett offers the 1.44 A/R G45 housing with a divided T4 inlet as part 757707-0026. The part on this page is the V-band inlet version for single-entry manifolds. Choose by the manifold: a single V-band collector takes this one, a divided T4 flange takes the other.

What power can a G45 make with the largest housing?

That depends on the core. Garrett rates the GXR45-82 to 1800 horsepower, the GXR45-80 to 1750, the GXR45-76 to 1650 and the G45-1610 to 1610. These are potential flywheel figures calculated from compressor choke flow, not guaranteed results, and fuel and calibration decide the outcome.

Is the super core part of this kit?

No. This is the turbine housing kit on its own. The super core, which holds the center section, rotating assembly and compressor housing, is sold separately, so the owner chooses among the nine G45 family cores and pairs it with this housing.

What speed limit applies to the GXR45-82?

Garrett publishes a maximum turbocharger speed of 100,000 rpm for the GXR45-82, the same as the GXR45-76, GXR45-80 and G45-1500. Running above it is at the risk of the owner, so a speed sensor in the compressor housing is worth fitting on a high-output build.

Description

Garrett G45 Turbine Housing Kit, 1.44 A/R V-Band Inlet and Outlet

Garrett’s G45 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.44 A/R is the largest single-scroll G45 housing, stainless steel with V-band joints at both ends and an external wastegate layout. It completes any of the nine G45 family cores Garrett lists, and it is meant for builds that will use every bit of exhaust flow: engines near 8.0L, high rpm, and the GXR45-80 or GXR45-82 pushed toward their ratings. Boost arrives later than with any other G45 housing, so a small engine or a car driven mostly at low rpm is better served by the 1.15 or 1.28.

Features

Largest V-band size in the G45 Turbine Housing Kit range
Clamped V-band inlet and outlet
No internal wastegate; an external gate controls boost

Garrett G45-1475: 888169-5007S super core
Garrett G45-1500: 888169-5005S super core
Garrett G45-1600: 888169-5006S super core
Garrett G45-1610 G-Series II: 938339-5004S super core, 938338-5004S CHRA
Garrett GXR45-67 G-XRace: 934173-5003S super core
Garrett GXR45-73 G-XRace: 934173-5004S super core
Garrett GXR45-76 G-XRace: 952766-5001S super core

Garrett GXR45-82 G-XRace: 952766-5005S super core

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G45 or GXR45 super core is sold separately
Garrett publishes a maximum turbocharger speed for each core, from 100,000 rpm on the G45-1500, GXR45-76, GXR45-80 and GXR45-82 to 120,000 rpm on the G-Series II G45-1610; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Smaller sizes and divided T4 versions are listed under G45 turbine housings
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
