When does the 0.95 A/R G40 Turbine Housing Kit make sense?

When the engine is too large or revs too high for the 0.85 but still needs boost early. The 0.95 A/R G40 Turbine Housing Kit gives a twin-scroll build a little more exhaust flow than the smallest size while keeping response ahead of the 1.06 and 1.19 housings.

What turbine wheel does this housing surround?

Every G40 core Garrett lists for it uses a G-Series turbine wheel with a 77mm inducer and a 70mm exducer. Garrett makes that wheel in Inconel and states it flows up to 43 lbs per minute, with turbine aero that flows 16 percent more than the GTX4088R.

Is a twin-scroll manifold required?

For this version, yes. The T4 inlet is divided, so it expects a manifold that keeps its two runner groups apart up to the flange. A single-entry manifold with a V-band collector pairs with the V-band inlet G40 housing, which Garrett sells in the same four A/R sizes.

Does the housing come with a super core?

No. This kit is the turbine housing alone. The rotating assembly, center housing and compressor come as a G40 super core, which Garrett offers as the G40-900, G40-1150, G40-1000, G40-1250 or GXR40-64. Buying them apart lets the builder choose the A/R and inlet style.

How hot can the housing run?

Garrett states that the stainless steel turbine housings used with its G-Series II G40 cores are rated up to 1050C, or 1922F. That rating applies to the housing material, so exhaust gas temperature at the turbine inlet should still be monitored during tuning.

Description

Garrett G40 Turbine Housing Kit, 0.95 A/R T4 Divided Inlet V-Band Outlet

Garrett’s G40 Turbine Housing Kit at 0.95 A/R is the step above the smallest G40 size: a stainless steel housing with a divided T4 inlet, a 117.4mm V-band outlet and an external wastegate layout. Garrett lists it for the G40-900, G40-1150, G-Series II G40-1000 and G40-1250, and the GXR40-64. It suits a mid-size engine on a twin-scroll manifold where the 0.85 would build backpressure near redline but the 1.06 would delay boost too much. On a single-scroll manifold it is the wrong part; the V-band inlet version is the match.

Features

T4 twin-scroll inlet and V-band outlet, stainless steel
No internal wastegate, so boost is set by an external gate
Second of four A/R steps in the G40 Turbine Housing Kit range

Specifications

Garrett part number: 757707-0033
A/R: 0.95
Turbine inlet and outlet: T4 divided and V-band
Divided inlet: Yes
Wastegate: External (free float)
Rotation: Standard
Material: Stainless steel
Matching turbine wheel: 77mm inducer and 70mm exducer
Outlet V-band: 117.4mm (4.622 in) OD, shared with GTX42, GTX45 and G42

Applications

This G40 Turbine Housing Kit fits the following Garrett cores:

Garrett G40-900: 860777-5003S super core
Garrett G40-1000 G-Series II: 938272-5001S super core, 938271-5001S CHRA
Garrett G40-1150: 860777-5002S super core
Garrett G40-1250 G-Series II: 938272-5002S super core, 938271-5002S CHRA
Garrett GXR40-64 G-XRace: 934173-5005S super core

Notes

An external wastegate is required, because this housing has no internal wastegate
The G40 super core is sold separately
Garrett sets the maximum turbocharger speed at 125,000 rpm for the G40 and G-Series II G40 cores and 109,000 rpm for the GXR40-64; running above it is at the owner’s risk
Other A/R sizes and V-band inlet versions are under G40 turbine housings
Garrett does not publish a hardware list for this kit; confirm clamps and gaskets before ordering

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
