Garrett’s G40 Turbine Housing Kit in 1.19 A/R is the largest twin-scroll housing for the G40 frame, with a divided T4 inlet, a 117.4mm V-band outlet and no internal wastegate, cast in stainless steel. It suits the top of the G40 range: engines near 6.0L, or high-revving builds running a G40-1250 or G40-1150 where backpressure would cap power in a smaller housing. Boost arrives later than with any other G40 size, so it is a poor fit for a small engine or a street car that lives at low rpm.

Choosing the largest A/R

A larger A/R slows the exhaust entering the turbine and lowers backpressure. At 1.19 this housing gives the G40 turbine wheel the most room to flow, at the cost of a later boost threshold than the 0.85, 0.95 or 1.06 sizes.
