What engines suit the G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger?

Garrett sizes the G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger for 2.0L to 3.5L engines. With the 0.83 A/R housing it fits a 2.0L to 2.5L four-cylinder or a small six that needs more turbine flow than a G25 offers without the slower spool of a larger G30 compressor.

How much power is it rated for?

Garrett rates the G30-725 at 350 to 725 horsepower, a figure calculated from the choke flow of the compressor map that represents potential flywheel horsepower. The engine, fuel system, boost level and calibration decide where a given build lands inside that range.

Is the 0.83 or 1.01 A/R housing better?

The 0.83 A/R on this part number builds boost earlier and suits smaller engines or street use. The 1.01 A/R version lowers back pressure at high rpm and suits larger engines or builds that care most about peak power. Garrett publishes flow maps to check the match.

Can a G30-660 owner move to the G30-725?

Garrett presents the G30-725 alongside the first-generation G30-660 compressor map on its product page, and states that any Gen I owner can upgrade with just a CHRA because G-Series II reuses Gen I housings. That lets an existing G30 owner keep the compressor cover and turbine housing.

Is the turbo ready to install?

Yes. Garrett ships this G30-725 assembled, with the internal wastegate housing and a calibrated 0.5 bar actuator, plus an oil restrictor and water fittings. The installer supplies the V-band manifold flange, oil and coolant lines and a calibration matched to the new turbocharger.

Description

Garrett G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger, 0.83 A/R V-Band Internal Wastegate

Garrett’s G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger with the 0.83 A/R housing is the entry point to the G30 frame, a 54mm compressor wheel on the larger 60mm G30 turbine, supplied complete with a V-band internal wastegate housing and a 0.5 bar actuator. Garrett rates it at 350 to 725 horsepower on engines from 2.0L to 3.5L. The smaller of its two housings, the 0.83 A/R, suits a 2.0L to 2.5L engine that wants G30 turbine flow with quicker response than a bigger compressor would give. For an engine below 2.0L a G25 is the better size.

Engineering

Garrett states that G-Series II is engineered by a team of 1,300 engineers and tested across five research centers. The new turbine wheel flows 15 to 20 percent more than Garrett’s GTX turbine at a peak efficiency of 74 percent, and the compressor side gives up to 10 percent more flow than the first generation at peak pressure ratio and turbo speed.

What’s Included

G30-725 G-Series II turbocharger with 0.83 A/R internal wastegate housing and actuator
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G30-725 G-Series II Turbocharger is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 3.5L
Power range: 350 to 725 horsepower (Garrett rating)

Notes

Garrett also builds the G30-725 with a 1.01 A/R housing, and as a super core or CHRA
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 160,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause damage and premature failure
Garrett states that a calibration is required to use the higher compressor flow

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
