How is the G30-825 G-Series II Super Core different from the G30-770?

The two share a 58mm compressor inducer, the 60mm turbine and the housings. The G30-825 G-Series II Super Core has new compressor aero that Garrett says flows up to 10 percent more at peak pressure ratio and turbo speed, which raises the rating to 825 horsepower; the speed limit drops from 150,000 to 140,000 rpm.

Can I keep my G30 housings?

Yes. Garrett states that G-Series II uses the first-generation compressor and turbine housings, so a standard-rotation G30 owner keeps the existing turbine housing and plumbing. Buying this super core also replaces the compressor cover; a G30-770 owner who wants to keep the cover can buy the G30-825 CHRA instead.

What horsepower does Garrett quote?

Garrett lists 475 to 825 horsepower on 2.0L to 3.5L engines. That rating is based on the choke flow of the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower. Garrett adds that a calibration is required to take advantage of the increased flow, so plan the tune alongside the hardware.

Do I need a speed sensor with this core?

Garrett recommends one. The maximum allowable speed is 140,000 rpm, the lowest of the G30 cores, and a small engine chasing the top of the rating will spend time near it. The Garrett speed sensor kit, sold separately, fits the compressor housing and lets the tuner monitor shaft speed.

Is there a complete G30-825 turbo?

Yes. Garrett lists two assembled standard-rotation G30-825 turbochargers with V-band internal wastegate housings, 0.83 A/R and 1.01 A/R, calibrated with a 0.5 bar actuator. The super core is the better choice for free-float, T3 or divided T4 housings, or when the turbine housing is already on hand.

Description

Garrett G30-825 G-Series II Super Core, 58mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G30-825 G-Series II Super Core is the 58mm G30 rebuilt around second-generation compressor aerodynamics, rated by Garrett at 475 to 825 horsepower on 2.0L to 3.5L engines. It ships in standard rotation as the center housing rotating assembly and compressor housing, ready for any standard G30 turbine housing including the internal wastegate versions. This is the G30 for a built engine that wants more than the G30-770 can flow without moving up to a 62mm compressor; on a build that will stop near 500 horsepower the 54mm G30-725 is the better fit.

Seals and Center Housing

Garrett shortened the bearing cartridge to fit twin piston rings on both sides of the shaft, reducing the chance of oil passing the seals, and made the center housing and backplate one piece to cut potential failure points. The turbine wheel is Mar-M super alloy with a quoted 74 percent peak efficiency.

Features

58mm compressor inducer and 71mm exducer, Garrett frame reference 5855
Up to 10 percent more compressor flow than G-Series Gen I at peak pressure ratio
Accepts first-generation G30 compressor and turbine housings
Oil restrictor and water fittings included

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5855
Compressor inducer and exducer: 58mm and 71mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 60mm and 55mm
Maximum turbocharger speed: 140,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G30-825 G-Series II standard rotation super core with compressor housing fitted
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G30-825 G-Series II Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 3.5L
Power range: 475 to 825 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Standard-rotation turbine kits: Free float in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R V-band, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R T3, 1.06 A/R T4 divided; internal wastegate in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett lists G30 turbine housing kits for standard rotation
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 140,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure
A calibration is required to turn the extra compressor flow into more power

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
