Will the G30-725 G-Series II Super Core fit my G30-660 turbine housing?

Yes, if the housing is standard rotation. Garrett states that G-Series II uses the first-generation compressor and turbine housings, so every standard G30 kit applies, from the 0.61 A/R V-band free-float housing to the 1.06 A/R divided T4 and the 0.83 and 1.01 A/R internal wastegate housings.

What does G-Series II add over G-Series?

New compressor aerodynamics. Garrett quotes up to 10 percent higher compressor flow than G-Series Gen I at peak pressure ratio and peak turbo speed, plus increased efficiency at high flow rates. The turbine side and housings stay the same, which is why the change can be made with a CHRA or super core swap.

How much horsepower is the G30-725 rated for?

Garrett rates the G30-725 G-Series II Super Core at 350 to 725 horsepower for engines from 2.0L to 3.5L. The figure is derived from the choke flow of the compressor map and represents potential flywheel horsepower, and Garrett notes that a calibration is required before the added flow shows up as added power.

Is the G30-725 the right size for a 2.0L?

It can be, but a 2.0L sits at the bottom of its range. Garrett starts the G30 at 2.0L, and the 60mm turbine is larger than the G25 turbine, so a 2.0L focused on response may suit a G25-700. A 2.5L to 3.5L engine aiming between 500 and 725 horsepower is the natural fit.

What maximum shaft speed does Garrett allow?

Garrett sets 160,000 rpm as the maximum allowable speed for the G30-725, and operation above that is at the risk of the owner. A speed sensor in the compressor housing reports shaft speed directly; Garrett sells the sensor kits separately and recommends them for protecting the turbocharger from overspeed.

Description

Garrett G30-725 G-Series II Super Core, 54mm Standard Rotation

Garrett’s G30-725 G-Series II Super Core is the 54mm G30 with second-generation compressor aerodynamics, giving up to 10 percent more flow than the first-generation wheel at peak pressure ratio and turbo speed according to Garrett. It is a standard-rotation center section with compressor housing, rated at 350 to 725 horsepower on 2.0L to 3.5L engines. Choose it for a new G30 build that wants the response of the smaller compressor with headroom past 660 horsepower; an owner of a G30-660 can reach the same place with the CHRA alone.

One-Piece Center Housing

The center housing and backplate are a single piece, which Garrett says reduces potential failure points, and the shorter bearing cartridge allows twin piston rings on both sides of the shaft. The V-band joint to the turbine housing can be clocked through 360 degrees with non-wastegated Garrett housings.

Features

54mm compressor inducer and 67mm exducer, Garrett frame reference 5455
Mar-M super alloy turbine wheel rated to 1050C (1922F), 74 percent peak efficiency
Uses first-generation G30 compressor and turbine housings
Oil restrictor and water fittings included

Specifications

Garrett turbo reference: 5455
Compressor inducer and exducer: 54mm and 67mm
Turbine inducer and exducer: 60mm and 55mm
Maximum turbocharger speed: 160,000 rpm
Rotation: Standard

What’s Included

G30-725 G-Series II standard rotation super core with compressor housing fitted
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G30-725 G-Series II Super Core is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 2.0L to 3.5L
Power range: 350 to 725 horsepower (Garrett rating)
Standard-rotation turbine kits: Free float in 0.61, 0.83, 1.01 and 1.21 A/R V-band, 0.83 and 1.01 A/R T3, 1.06 A/R T4 divided; internal wastegate in 0.83 and 1.01 A/R V-band

Notes

The turbine housing is not included; Garrett lists G30 turbine housing kits for standard rotation
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 160,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause premature failure
A calibration is required to turn the extra compressor flow into more power

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
