How is the G25-700 Reverse Rotation Turbo different from the standard unit?

The G25-700 Reverse Rotation Turbo spins the opposite direction and has mirrored compressor and turbine housings. Wheel sizes, the 0.92 A/R turbine housing and the 0.5 bar actuator match the standard version, so a pair gives identical performance on each side of a twin-turbo engine.

Is the 0.92 A/R right for my twin-turbo build?

It is right for engines that make peak power at high rpm or carry large displacement per turbocharger. The 0.92 A/R housing flows the most exhaust of the G25 options. Builds that prioritize low-speed torque usually choose the 0.72 A/R reverse unit and its standard rotation partner.

How much power does Garrett quote per turbo?

Garrett quotes 350 to 700 horsepower for the G25-700, based on the choke flow of the compressor map and expressed as potential flywheel horsepower. Each turbocharger in a twin layout carries that rating, and the finished output depends on the engine, fuel and calibration.

Can I build a free-float reverse G25-700 instead?

Yes. Garrett sells a reverse rotation G25-700 super core and reverse rotation free-float G25 turbine housings in 0.72 and 0.92 A/R. That route needs external wastegates on the manifold, whereas this complete turbocharger already carries an internal wastegate and calibrated actuator.

Do I need a speed sensor?

Garrett recommends one. The G25-700 has a maximum allowable speed of 160,000 rpm, and a sensor in the compressor housing lets the tuner confirm both turbochargers stay below it. On a twin installation a sensor on each unit shows whether the banks are sharing the work evenly.

Description

Garrett G25-700 Reverse Rotation Turbocharger, G-Series II 0.92 A/R V-Band

Garrett’s G25-700 Reverse Rotation Turbo, fitted with the 0.92 A/R housing, is the biggest-flowing reverse rotation turbo in the G25 frame. It combines the 54mm G-Series II compressor with the large V-band internal wastegate housing and a 0.5 bar actuator calibrated by Garrett. Paired with a standard rotation G25-700 of the same A/R, it suits a twin-turbo engine built for high rpm power, with Garrett rating each turbocharger at 350 to 700 horsepower. Builders who want boost low in the rev range will be happier with the 0.72 A/R pair.

Turbine Design

Garrett uses a Mar-M alloy turbine wheel rated to 1050C (1922F) in G-Series II, with new aerodynamics that flow 15 to 20 percent more than its GTX turbine at a peak efficiency of 74 percent. The compressor side gives up to 10 percent more flow than the first-generation G25 at peak pressure ratio and turbo speed.

What’s Included

G25-700 G-Series II reverse rotation turbocharger with 0.92 A/R internal wastegate housing and actuator
Oil restrictor and water fittings

Applications

The G25-700 Reverse Rotation Turbo is not vehicle specific. Garrett sizes it by engine and output:

Engine displacement: 1.4L to 3.0L
Power range: 350 to 700 horsepower per turbocharger (Garrett rating)
Layout: Mirrored twin-turbo engines

Notes

Match it with a standard rotation 0.92 A/R G25-700 on the other bank
The Garrett speed sensor kit is sold separately
Garrett states that running above 160,000 rpm is at the owner’s risk and can cause damage and premature failure
Garrett states that the engine must be recalibrated to benefit from the higher compressor flow

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
