Will the ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors fit a Buick Grand National?

Yes. Injector Dynamics lists this configuration for the Grand National and the Turbo Regal, along with the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. Six injectors at 1065cc per minute give a turbo 3.8 V6 plenty of fuel for larger turbochargers or alcohol blends.

How do I tell whether my Supra needs this set or the 11mm version?

Look at the top of a factory injector where it enters the rail. Injector Dynamics lists the 1993 to 1998 Supra Turbo in both sizes; this set is the 14mm top version of the ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors, and the 11mm version is 1050.60.11.14.6.

What does my tuner need for a Supra, Grand National or 911?

The Injector Dynamics characterization data for the ID1050-XDS, covering flow, offset and short pulse behavior. Whatever the engine, the calibration needs all three to meter fuel accurately at idle and under boost. Using only the flow rating leaves the low pulse width range poorly controlled.

Is the ID1050-XDS too big for a mild build?

It can be. At 1065cc per minute each, the set is sized for forced induction or ethanol, and a stock or lightly modified engine on gasoline will not use the headroom. It will still idle well once calibrated, but a smaller injector costs less if no further power is planned.

Can this six-injector set be cleaned and retested later?

Yes. Injector Dynamics cleans, inspects and flow tests injectors in Arizona. Defects in manufacture are covered for one year from purchase when the set has run the correct fuel with proper filtration, and a single replacement for this matched set of six is supplied by Injector Dynamics.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Lower O-Ring, Set of 6

Injector Dynamics’ ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with purple 14mm tops and 14mm lower O-rings in a set of six cover a wide spread of cars, from the 14mm-rail Supra Turbo and 300ZX Twin Turbo to the Buick Grand National, the E36 M3 and the Porsche 911. For turbo cars this is the step past factory fueling; for a naturally aspirated M3 or 911 it only makes sense with forced induction added.

Configuration

The 14mm top and lower layout on a 60mm body is the standard ID1050-XDS arrangement, matched here as a set of six.

Features

Stronger magnetic circuit that keeps operation stable up to 10 bar differential pressure
Revised internal flow path adds about five percent over the ID1000 without giving up low-flow control
Replaceable inlet filter for service life on less than perfect fuel
Purple 14mm top adapters fitted for 14mm fuel rail bores

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), gasoline at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 10.0 bar (145 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm adapter (purple)
Lower: 14mm O-ring

What’s Included

ID1050-XDS fuel injectors with 14mm top adapters fitted (x6)

Pontiac Turbo Trans Am: 1989 Anniversary
Porsche 911: 996; 997.1; 993 and earlier non-turbo 911 1984-1998
Toyota Supra Turbo: 1993-1998 | 2JZ-GTE, 14mm top version

Notes

Engines with USCAR injector plugs connect directly, while Denso, EV1 or OBD2 wiring needs adapters that are not in the box; for Denso, see the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
Supra and 300ZX cars come with 11mm or 14mm injector tops; this set is the 14mm version
Fitting these injectors requires a retune, with the Injector Dynamics characterization data loaded into the engine management

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
