Will these injectors drop into the stock 2004-2006 STi fuel rails?

No. These are top feed injectors for a top feed conversion, coded 18.01 by Injector Dynamics. The factory 2004 to 2006 STi uses side feed injectors, so the conversion hardware must be in place first. Confirm the rail, fittings and wiring for the conversion with your installer before the injectors arrive.

How far will the ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set go on E85?

That depends on the power target. The ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set flows about 1335cc per minute per injector and was designed for alternative fuels. E85 needs roughly a third more fuel than gasoline, so larger ethanol builds may move to the ID1750-XDS or ID2600-XDS versions of this conversion. Your tuner can size it from the plan.

Does the top-feed conversion change how the car idles?

Not when it is tuned properly. The ID1300-XDS keeps a minimum fuel mass compatible with gasoline, so small pulses at idle and light load stay controllable. The calibration must be built on the Injector Dynamics characterization data, after which the car should idle and cruise much as it did on the factory system.

Can I fit the injectors now and tune later?

No. The car should not be driven on the old calibration, since these injectors flow far more than stock and behave differently at short pulses. Book the tune for the day of installation so the Injector Dynamics characterization data is loaded before the first drive.

What happens if one injector fails?

Within the first year, a manufacturer defect is covered by the Injector Dynamics warranty, which requires correct fuel and proper filtration. Because the set is flow matched, the replacement comes from Injector Dynamics. Later on, Injector Dynamics can clean, inspect and flow test injectors in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set for 2004-2006 GD Subaru WRX STi Top-Feed Conversion

Injector Dynamics’ ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set for the 2004-2006 Subaru WRX STi top-feed conversion provides four 1335cc/min injectors on 48mm bodies with grey 14mm top adapters, coded 18.01 for that conversion. It suits an STi owner converting the factory side-feed fuel system to top-feed injectors, usually to make room for more boost or E85. The 1300 was designed for alternative fuels yet keeps a minimum fuel mass that suits gasoline, so the car still behaves at idle on pump fuel. An STi staying near stock power has no need for a conversion of this kind.

Configuration

The 18.01 code is the Injector Dynamics application for the 2004-2006 STi top-feed conversion, followed by the 48mm body length and the 14mm top. The same application is offered in the ID1750-XDS and ID2600-XDS flow classes.

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
