Will this set fit a McLaren 720S?

No. Injector Dynamics lists the 720S and the Senna for a sixteen injector set of the same 34mm configuration. This set of eight is listed for the MP4-12C, 570S, 600LT, 650S, 675LT and P1, so order the larger set for the later cars.

Do the ID1050-XDS 34mm Fuel Injectors need adapters on a McLaren V8?

No. The ID1050-XDS 34mm Fuel Injectors carry 14mm O-rings directly on the body at both ends, which is the configuration Injector Dynamics specifies for the McLaren V8 cars on its list. Electrically they use USCAR connectors, and adapters are needed only where the wiring uses another plug style.

Why would a McLaren on E85 need injectors this size?

Because ethanol needs more fuel volume than gasoline for the same power, and that is where factory injectors usually run short on a tuned car. Injector Dynamics rates the 1050 for all known fuels, so the same set suits gasoline now and E85 later, with the tune changed to match.

Will the McLaren V8 need a new calibration with these injectors?

Yes. The ECU works out fuel delivery from injector flow, offset and short pulse data, and the ID1050-XDS differs from the factory injector on all of them. Injector Dynamics publishes characterization data for the 1050, which your tuner enters before the McLaren V8 is run so the mixture is right from idle to full load.

What does the warranty cover on this McLaren set?

Manufacturer defects, for one year from the date of purchase, provided the injectors have run the correct fuel with proper filtration. Because the eight McLaren injectors are flow matched as a set, a single replacement comes through Injector Dynamics, which also offers a cleaning, inspection and flow test service in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS 34mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and Lower O-Rings, Set of 8

Injector Dynamics’ ID1050-XDS 34mm Fuel Injectors in a set of eight are listed by Injector Dynamics for McLaren’s twin-turbo V8 cars from the MP4-12C to the P1, including the 570S, 600LT, 650S and 675LT. Each one uses the short 34mm body with 14mm O-rings fitted directly top and bottom, and delivers 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar on gasoline. Owners on a factory or mild tune have no need for them. They make sense when a McLaren V8 is going to ethanol or larger turbochargers, where corrosion-resistant internals and a 10 bar pressure limit matter more than they do on a stock car.

Configuration

Family 1050, a 34mm body, 14mm top, 14mm lower and eight injectors: the 34mm length carries no top adapter. The 720S and Senna use sixteen injectors and are covered by a separate set of the same configuration.

Features

Developed with Bosch Motorsport for long-term ethanol and methanol use
Magnetic circuit built for stable operation to 10 bar
Compact body shared across more than 200 applications
Eight injectors flow matched as a set

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), gasoline at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 10.0 bar (145 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 34mm
Top: No adapter; 14mm O-ring on the injector body
Lower: 14mm O-ring

What’s Included

ID1050-XDS fuel injectors (x8)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1050-XDS 34mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

McLaren: MP4-12C, 570S, 600LT, 650S, 675LT, P1

Notes

The McLaren 720S and Senna are listed for a sixteen-injector set and do not take this one
The injectors carry USCAR connectors, so Denso, EV1 or Honda OBD2 wiring needs plug-and-play adapters, which are not included; the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter covers Denso plugs
The engine must be recalibrated with the Injector Dynamics characterization data before it is driven

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
