Which fuels can the ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors run in a 1.8T or Miata?

All known fuels, per Injector Dynamics. The ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors were designed for ethanol and methanol, with stainless internals, and their minimum fuel mass still suits gasoline. A boosted 1.8T or Miata can run pump fuel today and switch to E85 later on the same set.

Will this set fit a 2006-2014 Miata?

Yes. Injector Dynamics lists the 2006-2014 Mazda Miata for this four injector configuration, a 60mm body with a 14mm top and a 14mm bottom adapter. Earlier Miatas use a different vehicle coded Injector Dynamics set with an 11mm top, so check the generation of your car before ordering.

What does a 1.8T or Miata tune need for these?

The Injector Dynamics characterization data for the ID1300-XDS, giving flow rate, offset and short pulse width behavior. With it loaded, the engine computer fuels accurately at idle, cruise and full boost, and the tuner avoids estimating offsets on a small four-cylinder where idle pulses are short.

Does the Audi or VW 1.8T need the bottom adapter version?

Yes. Injector Dynamics lists the Audi 1.8L Turbo and VW 1.8T with the 14B bottom adapter on a 60mm body and a 14mm top, which is this set. A plain 14mm lower O-ring version of the same injector is a different part and is not listed for the 1.8T.

Are these plug and play on a 1.8T, Miata or Cobalt SS?

Yes, mechanically, for the applications Injector Dynamics lists. The plugs are USCAR, so USCAR wiring connects directly, while Denso, EV1 or OBD2 wiring needs an Injector Dynamics adapter sold separately. Bulletproof Automotive lists the USCAR to Denso adapter for Denso wiring.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Bottom Adapter, Set of 4

Injector Dynamics’ ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in this set of four use a grey 14mm top and a silver 14mm bottom adapter, the configuration Injector Dynamics lists for the Audi and VW 1.8T, the 2006-2014 Mazda Miata and the supercharged Cobalt SS, among others. Each injector flows 1335cc/min at 3.0 bar on iso-octane, which suits a big-turbo 1.8T or a boosted Miata on E85. A stock-turbo car on gasoline will be well served by something smaller. Stainless internals and a minimum fuel mass that suits gasoline keep idle steady on the street.

Configuration

14B in the part number is the 14mm bottom adapter, silver on this 60mm body according to Turn 14, with a grey 14mm top adapter above it. Four injectors make up the set.

Features

Flow matched as a set of 4
Minimum fuel mass suited to gasoline for good idle and cruise
All-stainless internals, once unique among performance injectors
Grey 14mm top adapter and silver 14mm bottom adapter on the 60mm body

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1335cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), iso-octane at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 7.0 bar (101.5 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm adapter (grey)
Lower: 14mm bottom adapter (silver)

What’s Included

ID1300-XDS fuel injectors with grey 14mm top adapters and silver 14mm bottom adapters (x4)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Audi and Volkswagen: 1.8L Turbo
Chevrolet Cobalt SS: Supercharged
Mazda Miata: 2006-2014
Saturn: Ion Redline; Sky non-turbo
Toyota MR-2 Turbo: 1990-1996 | 3S-GTE, 14mm top version

Notes

Engines already wired for USCAR plug straight in; factory Denso plugs need the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter, and EV1 or OBD2 wiring needs the matching Injector Dynamics adapter
An ECU recalibration with the Injector Dynamics characterization data is required before the engine is driven
Each injector carries the 14mm bottom adapter that defines this configuration
The 1990-2005 Miata uses a different, vehicle-coded Injector Dynamics set with an 11mm top

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
