Why do the ID1750-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors for a Whipple Coyote use a blue adapter?

Injector Dynamics specifies the blue 14mm bottom adapter for Coyote engines with a Whipple supercharger, and lists the ID1750-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors this way for that installation. Coyote, GT350 and GT500 engines without the Whipple use a silver bottom adapter version, so the adapter colour tells the two sets apart.

Can I use this set on a Coyote without a supercharger?

No. Injector Dynamics lists the blue bottom adapter version for the Whipple supercharged Coyote only. A Coyote without that supercharger is listed with the silver 14mm bottom adapter, which is a different part number in the same flow class, so order that set for a naturally aspirated engine.

Is a retune needed after fitting these to a Whipple Coyote?

Yes. Injector flow and offset must be entered in the engine management before driving. The 1750 is rated at 1728cc per minute with a 1169 microsecond offset at 43.5 psi and 12 volts, and Injector Dynamics publishes characterization data so the tuner can set up all eight alongside the Whipple boost and timing.

Can a Whipple Coyote run E85 or methanol on these?

Yes. Injector Dynamics rates the 1750 for ethanol, methanol, MTBE, nitromethane and all known hydrocarbon fuels. A Whipple engine on E85 needs much more fuel volume than on gasoline, so the pump system has to keep the eight injectors fed at full boost as well.

What connector do the Whipple Coyote injectors use?

USCAR. If the wiring on your car has Denso, EV1 or Honda style plugs, Injector Dynamics plug and play adapters fit between the wiring and each injector without splicing. Bulletproof Automotive carries the USCAR to Denso adapter; contact us for the other types, and allow eight for this set.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1750-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Blue Bottom Adapter, Set of 8

Injector Dynamics’ ID1750-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in this set of eight have a 14mm top and a blue 14mm bottom adapter, and Injector Dynamics lists the configuration for 2011-on Coyote V8s fitted with a Whipple supercharger. A Whipple-blown Coyote on E85 is the kind of engine where 1728cc/min per injector is justified, since boost and ethanol both push fuel demand up. Without the supercharger, the standard Coyote set with a silver bottom adapter is the one to look at. On a Whipple car still running pump gasoline at the kit’s base boost, a smaller flow class may be all that is needed.

Configuration

The blue bottom adapter is what separates this set from the silver-adapter Coyote version, and Injector Dynamics specifies it for the Whipple installation. Body length is 60mm with a 14mm top.

Features

Blue 14mm bottom adapters specified for the Whipple Coyote installation
Rated for methanol, ethanol, MTBE, nitromethane and all known hydrocarbon fuels
Better cylinder-to-cylinder balance at low pulsewidths for steadier idle and light cruise

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1728cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), E10 certification fuel at 49C (120F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 7.0 bar (101.5 psi)
Offset: 1169 microseconds at 43.5 psi and 12 volts
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm
Lower: 14mm bottom adapter (blue)

What’s Included

ID1750-XDS fuel injectors with 14mm tops and blue 14mm bottom adapters (x8)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1750-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Ford Coyote with Whipple supercharger: 2011+

Notes

Coyote engines without the Whipple supercharger take the silver bottom adapter version instead
The injectors use USCAR plugs, so engines with Denso, EV1 or Honda OBD2 connectors need plug-and-play adapters, which are not included; the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter covers Denso wiring
Plan a tune alongside the install, since the calibration needs the published Injector Dynamics flow and offset data

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
