Are the ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors right for a turbo 12-valve VR6?

Yes. Injector Dynamics lists this set with the 14mm bottom adapter for the 12-valve VR6 in Volkswagen and Audi models. Six 1065cc per minute injectors give a turbo VR6 a large fuel margin on gasoline and room for E85 once the calibration is done.

What does the bottom adapter do?

It extends the lower end of the injector so a compact 60mm body seats correctly in an engine designed for a different factory injector. On these engines the ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors need it to seal and sit at the right depth, so it comes fitted.

Why does a turbo VR6 calibration need injector data?

At idle, a 1065cc per minute injector spends much of each pulse opening and closing, and that behavior is not linear. Injector Dynamics measures offset and short pulse behavior for the ID1050-XDS and publishes it, so the VR6 or XR6T calibration can meter small fuel quantities accurately.

Can I mix these with my old injectors?

No. Running a mix of flow rates puts different amounts of fuel into each cylinder, which a calibration cannot correct. Replace the full set with the matched ID1050-XDS injectors, and keep the old set intact if the engine may ever go back to standard.

What would void the warranty on the VR6 set?

Running incorrect fuel or inadequate filtration, since the one year cover against manufacturer defects depends on both. Contamination getting past a poor filter is the usual cause of trouble. Because the six are flow matched, replacements come through Injector Dynamics, which also offers cleaning and flow testing in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Bottom Adapter, Set of 6

Injector Dynamics’ ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors fitted with a 14mm bottom adapter are the set Injector Dynamics lists for the 12-valve VR6 in Audi and Volkswagen form and for the BA and BF Ford Falcon XR6T. The turbo VR6 crowd and the XR6T owners chasing more boost share one problem: factory injectors that run out of flow early. Six of these at 1065cc/min deal with it on gasoline and leave useful margin for E85. On an unmodified VR6 the extra capacity would sit idle.

Configuration

The bottom adapter extends the injector tip to the 14mm lower bore these engines use, so the 60mm body seats as the original did. Both the 14mm top and the bottom adapter come fitted.

Features

Replaceable inlet filter for service life on less than perfect fuel
Compact body shared across more than 200 applications in its lengths and seal options
Characterization data published by Injector Dynamics for an accurate calibration
14mm bottom adapter fitted so the injector seats in the factory lower bore

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), gasoline at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 10.0 bar (145 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm adapter
Lower: 14mm bottom adapter

What’s Included

ID1050-XDS fuel injectors with 14mm top adapters and 14mm bottom adapters fitted (x6)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Audi: VR6 12-valve
Ford Falcon XR6T: BA / BF
Volkswagen: VR6 12-valve

Notes

USCAR plugs are standard on this set; for Denso-plug wiring order the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter, and for EV1 or OBD2 wiring the corresponding Injector Dynamics adapter
The bottom adapter is part of the fitment; leave it in place when installing
Budget for tuning time alongside the injectors, since the calibration must be rebuilt around the Injector Dynamics data

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
