What does the WRX-16B bottom adapter do?

It steps the lower end of the injector from 14mm to 16mm so it seals in a 16mm injector bore. Injector Dynamics developed it for Subaru applications, and on this set it is already fitted to all six injectors along with red 11mm top adapters.

Will this set fit my Subaru WRX or STi?

No. Injector Dynamics lists the WRX, the 2007 to 2020 STi, the Legacy GT and the Forester XT for a set of four with the same top and bottom adapters. This set of six has no published vehicle list and suits six cylinder fuel systems built around the same seats.

Are the ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors rated for methanol?

Yes. Injector Dynamics rates the ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors for every known fuel, methanol included, and builds them with corrosion resistant internals for long service on alcohol. Methanol calls for a large increase in fuel volume, so confirm with your tuner that six injectors of this size cover the target.

What does my tuner need to set up the six on these injectors?

The Injector Dynamics characterization data for the ID1050-XDS. It describes flow rate, offset against voltage and short pulse behavior, which the engine management needs to meter fuel accurately. With that data loaded, idle and part throttle on the six can be set up to behave much like stock.

If one WRX-16B injector fails, can I replace only that one?

Yes, through Injector Dynamics. The six WRX-16B injectors are flow matched, so a single replacement has to be supplied by the maker to keep the group consistent. Warranty runs one year from purchase against manufacturer defects, on condition that the correct fuel and proper filtration were used, and Injector Dynamics can also clean, inspect and flow test used injectors in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors with 11mm Top and WRX-16B Bottom Adapter, Set of 6

Injector Dynamics’ ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this set of six carry red 11mm tops and WRX-16B bottom adapters, which step the lower end from 14mm to 16mm. Injector Dynamics uses the WRX-16B adapter on its four-cylinder Subaru sets and publishes no vehicle list for this six-injector version. It suits a builder whose manifold wants a 16mm lower seat with an 11mm top. Measure first; where it fits, six 1065cc/min injectors rated to 10 bar give a boosted or E85 six-cylinder plenty of margin.

Configuration

The ID1050-XDS 48mm Fuel Injectors in this set read as family 1050, a 48mm body, an 11mm top, the WRX-16B bottom adapter and six injectors.

Features

Developed with Bosch Motorsport to Injector Dynamics specification
Corrosion-resistant internals for gasoline, ethanol and methanol
Stronger magnetic circuit for stable operation to 10 bar
Six injectors flow matched, with replaceable inlet filters

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), gasoline at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 10.0 bar (145 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 48mm
Top: 11mm adapter (red)
Lower: WRX-16B bottom adapter, 14mm to 16mm

What’s Included

ID1050-XDS fuel injectors with red 11mm tops and WRX-16B bottom adapters fitted (x6)

Applications

Injector Dynamics does not publish a vehicle list for this configuration; it fits fuel systems built for a 48mm injector with an 11mm top and a 16mm lower seat.

Notes

WRX-16B bottom adapters are fitted, stepping the 14mm lower up to 16mm
The Subaru WRX, STi, Legacy GT and Forester XT are listed for a set of four with this adapter
USCAR connectors are fitted; engines wired with Denso, EV1 or OBD2 plugs need Injector Dynamics plug-and-play adapters, sold separately; for Denso wiring see the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
An ECU recalibration is required after fitting, using the Injector Dynamics characterization data

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
