Can the ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors run E85 on a Whipple Coyote?

Yes. The ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors are rated for all known fuels and were designed by Injector Dynamics around alternative fuels, with stainless internals. A Whipple Coyote on E85 needs roughly a third more fuel than on gasoline for the same power, so the fuel pump must be sized for it.

Why does the Whipple Coyote get its own configuration?

Injector Dynamics lists the Whipple Coyote with the 14W blue bottom adapter, while the other 2011 and later Ford V8s it covers take the 14B bottom adapter. The adapter sets how the injector meets the lower bore, so follow the configuration Injector Dynamics specifies for a Whipple installation and not the one for the stock engine.

What does a Whipple Coyote tune need for these?

Injector Dynamics characterization data for the ID1300-XDS, covering flow rate, offset and short pulse behavior. With those values in the calibration, the Coyote fuels accurately at idle and cruise as well as at full boost from the Whipple, and the tuner does not have to estimate offsets.

Do I need this set if my Coyote has a different supercharger?

No, not necessarily. Injector Dynamics ties this 14W configuration to the Whipple Coyote, and lists the 2011 and later Mustang GT and F150 5.0 with the 14B bottom adapter set. Other supercharger kits may use either arrangement, so check what the kit maker specifies before ordering.

How does this compare with the ID1050-XDS on a Whipple build?

The ID1050-XDS flows 1065cc per minute on gasoline and is rated to 10 bar, which helps a high pressure gasoline system. The ID1300-XDS flows about 1335cc per minute, is rated to 7 bar and was designed for alternative fuels, so it suits a Whipple Coyote headed for ethanol.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Blue Bottom Adapter, Set of 8

Injector Dynamics’ ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in the 14W configuration are the set of eight Injector Dynamics lists for the Whipple-supercharged Coyote V8 from 2011 on, with a 14mm top and a blue 14mm bottom adapter. A Whipple Coyote moving to E85 is a natural fit for this injector: 1335cc/min each at 3.0 bar on iso-octane, stainless internals, and a design aimed at alternative fuels. The minimum fuel mass still suits gasoline, so the car idles and cruises properly on pump fuel. On a naturally aspirated Coyote the set is far more injector than required.

Configuration

W in the part number marks the blue 14mm bottom adapter. The non-Whipple 2011 and later Mustang GT, F150 5.0 and Raptor are listed with the 14B bottom adapter instead, so follow the configuration your supercharger kit specifies.

Features

Flow matched as a set of 8
Designed specifically for alternative fuels and compatible with all known fuels
Minimum fuel mass suited to gasoline for good idle and cruise
Blue 14mm bottom adapter as listed for Whipple-supercharged Coyote engines

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1335cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), iso-octane at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 7.0 bar (101.5 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm adapter
Lower: 14mm bottom adapter (blue)

What’s Included

ID1300-XDS fuel injectors with 14mm top adapters and blue 14mm bottom adapters (x8)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1300-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Ford Coyote with Whipple supercharger: 2011+

Notes

Listed for Whipple-supercharged Coyote engines; other 2011 and later Ford V8 applications use the 14B bottom adapter set
USCAR plugs are fitted, so Denso, EV1 or OBD2 wiring needs adapters, sold separately; for Denso plugs use the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
An ECU recalibration with the Injector Dynamics characterization data is required before the engine is driven

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
