Why do the ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors for a Whipple car use a blue adapter?

The Whipple intake seats the injectors differently from the factory Coyote manifold, and Injector Dynamics makes the blue 14mm bottom adapter to suit it. On a Whipple engine this set fits correctly where the standard bottom adapter version would not.

Can I run this set on a Coyote without a Whipple?

Injector Dynamics lists this set only for Whipple supercharged Coyotes. A factory intake Coyote or one with a different supercharger kit should use the standard ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with the 14mm bottom adapter, part number 1050.60.14.14B.8. Both share the same injector body and 14mm top.

Is a retune required with a Whipple and these injectors?

Yes. Whether the injectors go in with the Whipple kit or after it, the calibration has to be built around eight 1065cc per minute injectors. The tuner loads the Injector Dynamics flow, offset and short pulse data for the ID1050-XDS so fueling is accurate across the boost range.

How do I decide between the ID1050-XDS and ID1300-XDS for a Whipple Coyote?

By fuel and pressure. The ID1050-XDS flows 1065cc per minute and is rated to 10 bar of differential pressure; the ID1300-XDS flows about 1335cc per minute, is rated to 7 bar and was designed for alternative fuels. A Whipple car on full ethanol at high boost is where the larger class belongs.

How long is the Whipple set warranted?

One year from purchase against manufacturer defects, conditional on running the correct fuel with proper filtration. A failed injector is replaced through Injector Dynamics because all eight are flow matched, and the company also offers cleaning, inspection and flow testing in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with 14mm Top and 14mm Blue Bottom Adapter, Set of 8

Injector Dynamics’ ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors with the blue 14mm bottom adapter are the set Injector Dynamics lists for the 2011+ Ford Coyote V8 running a Whipple supercharger. The Whipple intake places the injectors differently from the factory manifold, so the blue adapter replaces the one used in the standard Coyote set. A Whipple car is exactly the situation where 1065cc/min per cylinder makes sense, with the factory injectors past their limit on gasoline long before the blower reaches full boost.

Configuration

The 14W code marks the blue 14mm bottom adapter. It is the only difference from the standard Coyote set, 1050.60.14.14B.8, so check whether the engine wears a Whipple intake before choosing between them.

Features

Developed with Bosch Motorsport and built to Injector Dynamics specification instead of being adapted from a production part
Corrosion-resistant internals rated for gasoline, ethanol, methanol and every other known fuel
Stronger magnetic circuit that keeps operation stable up to 10 bar differential pressure
Blue 14mm bottom adapter fitted for the Whipple Coyote intake

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1065cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), gasoline at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 10.0 bar (145 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm adapter
Lower: 14mm bottom adapter (blue)

What’s Included

ID1050-XDS fuel injectors with 14mm top adapters and blue 14mm bottom adapters fitted (x8)

Applications

Injector Dynamics lists the ID1050-XDS 60mm Fuel Injectors in this configuration for:

Ford Coyote 5.0 with Whipple supercharger: 2011+

Notes

The connector is USCAR; plug-and-play adapters for Denso, EV1, OBD2 and 2012+ Honda wiring are sold separately, and the Denso type is the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter
For a Coyote on the factory intake or a non-Whipple kit, the standard set is 1050.60.14.14B.8
The engine must be recalibrated for these injectors, using the published Injector Dynamics data

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
