Which BMW models does this set fit?

Injector Dynamics lists this set by engine, so it is intended for BMW models fitted with the M54 inline six. Check the engine code on your car before ordering. If your BMW has a different six cylinder engine, Injector Dynamics offers other configurations, and our team can help match the body length and seals.

Is the ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set a good match for a naturally aspirated M54?

No. The ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set flows about 1335cc per minute per injector, far beyond what an unboosted M54 needs on gasoline. It makes sense once a turbocharger or supercharger is fitted, or when the engine moves to E85, which calls for roughly a third more fuel volume.

Is a tune required after installation?

Yes. Engine management calculates fuel from injector flow, offset and short pulse behavior, and these injectors differ from stock on all three. Your tuner enters the Injector Dynamics characterization data for the ID1300-XDS first, so the engine idles and cruises correctly before power tuning begins.

What separates the ID1050-XDS and ID1300-XDS versions for the M54?

The ID1050-XDS flows 1065cc per minute and tolerates up to 10 bar differential pressure. The ID1300-XDS flows about 1335cc per minute, is rated to 7 bar and was designed around alternative fuels. Pick the 1300 for a larger ethanol build and the 1050 for gasoline or a system running higher fuel pressure.

What does the warranty cover?

Injector Dynamics covers manufacturer defects for one year from purchase, provided the injectors run the correct fuel through proper filtration. The set is flow matched, so a single replacement comes from Injector Dynamics, which also offers cleaning, inspection and flow testing in Arizona.

Description

Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set for BMW M54 Inline-Six Engines

Injector Dynamics’ ID1300-XDS Fuel Injector Set for BMW M54 Inline-Six Engines supplies six 1335cc/min injectors on a 60mm body with a purple 14mm top adapter, coded by Injector Dynamics for this engine. The factory M54 was built without forced induction, so a set this size belongs on a turbocharged or supercharged six, particularly one that will run E85 or another alcohol blend. The ID1300-XDS was designed around alternative fuels while keeping a minimum fuel mass that suits gasoline, so the engine can still idle and cruise politely on pump fuel. For a naturally aspirated M54 with bolt-ons, it is far more injector than the engine can use.

Configuration

In 1300.02.01.60.14.6, the 02.01 is the Injector Dynamics application code for the M54, the 60 is the body length in millimeters and the 14 is the top size. Purple marks the 14mm top adapter on 60mm bodies. The same M54 application is also offered in the ID1050-XDS flow class.

Features

Six injectors coded 02.01 for the BMW M54, flow matched as a group
Rated for every known fuel and designed specifically around alternative fuels such as E85 and methanol
Minimum fuel mass kept compatible with gasoline, for steady idle and cruise on pump fuel

Specifications

Nominal flow: 1335cc/min at 3.0 bar (43.5 psi), iso-octane at 52C (125F)
Maximum differential fuel pressure: 7.0 bar (101.5 psi)
Fuel compatibility: All known fuels; designed specifically for alternative fuels
Electrical connector: USCAR
Body length: 60mm
Top: 14mm adapter (purple)

What’s Included

ID1300-XDS fuel injectors with purple 14mm top adapters fitted (x6)

Applications

BMW: M54 inline-six engine

Notes

Each injector carries a USCAR connector and no adapters are included; Denso, EV1 or Honda OBD2 wiring needs plug-and-play adapters, such as the Injector Dynamics USCAR to Denso PnP Adapter for Denso plugs
An ECU recalibration is required after fitting, using the Injector Dynamics characterization data
Also offered as the ID1050-XDS Fuel Injector Set for BMW M54 for the same application

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
