Does the BPC100 Brushless Pump Controller include a fuel pump?

No. The BPC100 Brushless Pump Controller is the controller alone and needs a TI Automotive E5LM brushless pump to run. Injector Dynamics sells the two together as the FPS1100 Fuel Pump System, which is the simpler order for a new build that does not already have an E5LM pump.

How much power can one E5LM and BPC100 support?

Injector Dynamics rates the combination for more than 2000 hp on ethanol at fuel pressures as high as 150 psi. The controller holds flow up to 1100 liters per hour, which is the point of the system. Confirm the figure for your fuel and pressure with your tuner.

Why not just run two or three conventional pumps?

Conventional pumps lose flow as voltage drops and fuel pressure rises. Injector Dynamics shows a pair of 500 liter per hour pumps falling to about 500 liters per hour combined at 4 bar base pressure, 30 psi of boost and 12 volts. The BPC100 keeps one E5LM at its target flow under the same conditions.

How is the flow rate controlled?

Three ways. A fixed rate can be set with the onboard potentiometer, flow can follow a MAP sensor so it rises with boost, or the engine management can command flow in real time through a PWM input. The controller also reports error codes on its LED array and over CAN.

Does the controller need special wiring?

Yes. The BPC100 can draw up to 100 amps, so the power feed, ground and fusing must be sized for that current. It accepts 7.0 to 17.5 volts with reverse polarity protection. Injector Dynamics publishes an operation manual covering installation, specifications and troubleshooting, and it should be followed in full.

Description

Injector Dynamics BPC100 Brushless Pump Controller for TI Automotive E5LM Fuel Pump

Injector Dynamics’ BPC100 Brushless Pump Controller drives a TI Automotive E5LM brushless fuel pump from its own internal power supply, so the pump delivers a target flow whatever the battery voltage or the boost pressure is doing. A conventional pump rated at 500 l/h loses flow as voltage sags and fuel pressure climbs, and Injector Dynamics shows a pair of them falling to about half their combined rating at 4 bar base pressure, 30 psi of boost and 12 volts. The BPC100 holds up to 1,100 l/h through those conditions, and Injector Dynamics rates the pairing with one E5LM for more than 2,000 hp on ethanol at pressures up to 150 psi. For a mild build a conventional pump is simpler; the BPC100 suits ethanol and race engines that would otherwise need several pumps.

How It Works

The BPC100 is a microprocessor-based controller that monitors pump speed and adjusts power to keep flow on target. Flow can be fixed with the onboard potentiometer, referenced to a MAP sensor so it rises with boost, or commanded in real time by a PWM signal from the engine management. CAN output carries voltage, current, flow, temperature, MAP voltage and PWM duty cycle for logging.

Features

Pump flow held independent of battery voltage and fuel pressure
Fixed, MAP-referenced or PWM-commanded flow control
One E5LM in place of a multi-pump setup

Specifications

Operating voltage: 7.0 to 17.5 volts DC
Maximum pressure: 150 psi
Flow rate: Variable, 300 to 1,100 l/h
Current draw: 5 amp minimum, 100 amp maximum, dependent on operating conditions
Ambient temperature range: -18C to 70C
Compatible pump: TI Automotive E5LM brushless

Applications

Fuel systems built around a TI Automotive E5LM brushless fuel pump, in any vehicle.

Notes

The BPC100 Brushless Pump Controller is sold without a pump; a TI Automotive E5LM is required
For the controller and pump together, see the Injector Dynamics FPS1100 Fuel Pump System
Installation calls for heavy-gauge power wiring and fusing sized for the 100 amp maximum draw; follow the Injector Dynamics operation manual

About Injector Dynamics

Injector Dynamics is an Arizona injector specialist and an authorized technical partner of Bosch Motorsport, developing its injectors to its own specification rather than modifying production parts. It introduced slope and offset matching in 2007, and its Dual Slope Matching, developed by engineer Aaron Looft, extends matching into the short pulse widths that boosted and ethanol engines rely on. Its flow benches are built in house and calibrated against a NIST-traceable flow prover. Injector Dynamics supplied the emissions-compliant injectors for the twin-turbo Noble M600, and its injectors were fitted to the first seven-second Nissan GT-R and the first 300 mph motorcycle.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
